Cool changes, and LOL at the "name change".
In case you didn't notice, take a peek at the logo's URL. And if you're really feeling ambitious, take a look at the url with out the "_joke" prefix... http://thedailyworsethanfailure.com/Resources/Images/Primary/logo.gif |

I though the whole name change question was that as professionals and adults we can both relate to and cope with "What the fuck" and that "Worse than failure" in no way conveys what we feel.
If I only wanted "worse than failure" I would limit my reading to the Risks List http://catless.ncl.ac.uk/risks |

Changing the site’s name from Worse Than Failure to The Daily Worse Than Failure was the “Worst. Namechange. Ever.”, trumping not only New Coke and the AT&T to Cingular to AT&T fiasco, but also the multi-billion dollar The Daily WTF to Worse Than Failure fiasco.

How exactly is adding "The Daily" in front of "Worse Than Failure" an improvement? Sure, the abbreviated name becomes "The Daily WTF" again, but it's still "Worse Than Failure".
That just does not convey what many, if not most, of the articles are about. As your survey shows, most of us just want to exclaim "WHAT THE F***?!!" when reading the articles. The only ones that I would even label "Worse Than Failure" (which I had never seen before until you renamed the site) are the articles covering large, elaborate systems that somehow manage to accomplish the task, but only in the most twisted sort of way. But, at least those still fall under the original "WTF" name. I really don't care what the name is as I try to ignore it. In fact, I might ad-block it. But, I wanted to contribute my insight into the name problem. |

Ah, yes, because The Compromise™ is the way to enlightenment and powerful brands. Really, the change to "Worse Than Failure" was a sad display of bowing down to the Political Correctness freaks who want to ban everything in this world that is expressive, human and genuine. By re-adding "the daily" to the title you have completely misinterpreted what (I hope at least) the nay-voters think is stupid about the original name change. It's NOT about the fact that it's daily. "Worse Than Failure" is a contrived backronym and its continued use only tells us that you have no discernible spine. PC FTL. |

Actually Fman's pretty hardcore, using ., the Haskell compose function operator.
Take ever, filter namechanges, sort them worst to best, and return the second. Personally, though, I think "Worse Than Failure" is the best name to describe the content, and it's now a phrase I use often. I may be in a 5.8% minority (seriously?!), but I'm grateful the original change occurred. |

Why do you have 2 domains pointing to the same server? If the googlebot etc, senses duplicate content you can be penalized in the index... You should set up a 301 permanent redirect for one of the domains.

Ah.. but how do you know that they are being serious or not? It could be possible that they are debating seriously, but only doing it for fun. For instance, my first comment was just some insight into the whole fiasco. Since the survey itself was a joke, it is blatantly obvious that the name change was an even bigger one.
Point taken.
Why stop with the bumper? You have an entire car to work with! If only I could get a picture of that truck that appears around here every now and then, I'd give you some inspiration.
FTW! |

Well, "The Daily WTF" abbreviates to "TDWTF". "Worse Than Failure" abbreviates too "WTF". The latter is, in e-mails and instant messaging, annoyingly ambiguous. Oh, and it's nice to see thedailywtf.com working again -- I left my bookmark using that URL and now it's working as normal. Woo!

60% of the survey takers stated that the first name change was the worst one ever. And if the are like me, then they selected that option because they preferred the original WTF name. Now we find the named changed again and to one that (IMHO) is even more lame. And it looks like the survey results were deliberately misunderstood. This smacks of pandering to an unamed minority rather than listening to what the majority stated. Given that ad revenue is based on a numbers game, I would say that pleasing the majority is a better business model for the long term (unless of course you feel you can easily replace the people you have annoyed) |

a compromise doesn't have to mean the best of both worlds. Example: -farmers ask for rain to help grow their stuff -the rest asks for sunshine, to enjoy the day Compromise: -a cloudy day without rain, nobody happy.. ;) |
