Man, this beat out my "developer can't use the file finder dialog" entry, from an actual not-so-great developer?
This entry is rather humorous, but I can understand a certain amount of ignorance from someone just learning to use a computer. Star Trek IV and "Hello computer" come to mind... Rolling the mouse on the screen, improperly plugging in the power strip and or computer; we've all heard these luser stories. Its the baffling ignorance and/or stupidity from "developers" that keeps me coming back to the daily WTF... More dumb developer stories! That is all. -harborpirate |

wow, is this the first post here that doesn't stick text into a hard to read, fuzzy image with a tiny font?
|
|
Like the good ole days when people would poke in the hope the computer did something.
|
|
Well, it had a chance of working if they had
1) typed it all in lower case (only applies to case sensitive CLIs) 2) there was a Makefile in the cwd 3) There was a target "game" in that Makefile But would they have figured out how to run it afterwards? |

I agree with harborpirate. This post makes me think WTF for a completely different reason.

i think this is one of the oldest myths that swedish (and others?) computer teachers tell over and over and over again..

This actually reminds me of my little brothers, who would connect to
the internet for hfl.1,50 per minute, and that was a lot of money in those days, then open up notepad, and start typing "Hello? Anyone else on the internet today?" They generally concluded that internet must have been closed on Sundays. |

I'm impressed that a 15-year-old in the mid 80s could actually type.

SEND SPIKE
(someone was going to say it.) |
|
> make game
make: *** No rule to make target `game'. Stop. |
|
Swedish you said?
$ LANG=sv_SE make game make: *** Ingen regel för att skapa målet "game". Stannar. |
|
trwtf is that this was even thought worthy of posting.

I just hit this via Random Article.
Then I lost the game. |
