And it gets better: the company CAN discriminate against a protected class as long as it can be shown that there is a valid reason for it. For example, I worked for a company years ago that would not hire Orthodox Jews or Seventh-Day Adventists because it was a job requirement to work Saturdays.

Yeah, it really is a bit like asking an imperative programmer, "so, how about those user-defined functions?" Or like asking a truck driver, "so how do you feel about steering wheels?"
