Wow, that's...right downstairs from where I work.
Now if I only felt like I was sufficiently intelligent enough to attend such a gathering. x.x;; |

How rude for someone who lives in the USA to not say USA whenever he says he's going somewhere! Or maybe it's rude for you to think that the USA is the size of one of the European countries, and assume we can get to another country with ease. |

I think it's safe to say that if we have to tell you what nation Pittsburgh is in, you weren't likely to attend anyway.

I've heard of that, when you drive out of the USA and get stuck in a barren wasteland full of foreign sounding freaks that goes on forever, but we normally call that "Texas." |
Well there's this thing called "The Internet". It's magical and people from all over the world can put things "into" it, and other people all over the world can see it. I'm pretty sure it's a WTF to assume everyone on the internet knows where the author of the page lives. |

It's pretty funny that Europeans chide the US for ignoring the rest of the world while they routinely forget that what they call "Europe" is really "Western Europe" and they just blithely ignore all those funny sounding countries to their East. |

It is, but only because it's a WTF to not remember that people across the pond are slightly retarded and can't tell a US site by looking at the domain. Yes, *theoretically* anyone can get a .com domain, but non-American news sites almost invariably have a country specific domain. |

I'm a huge Penguins and Steelers fan since my one year stay in Pittsburgh. But can't join. I am from and live in europe.
Have fun. |

My first response: If someone said that a meeting was to be held in Brussels, would it really be necessary to say that this is in Belgium? If someone doesn't know, I suspect there might be places to look such a fact up. (Pittsburgh has over twice the population of Brussels, so should be just as easy to find.) But my second, real response: It's not that we don't realize that there is a "rest of the world". It's just that we don't care. Most of those other countries are just run by a bunch of foreigners anyway. |
|
I don't think any amount of alcohol will make this a pretty picture to look at.

Gee I guess clicking the link to the meetup spot would be too hard. It IS only linked in the article. I mean it only says AMERICAN COOKERY at the top of the site, and of course there is also a handy LOCATION button on their site as well if there were any doubts after that. Must be the RestOfTheWorld is too ready to jump down USAers' throats |

In response to that, you do realise that america is also run by foreigners right? Mostly european, it's highly unlikely that more then 1% of the ppl that respond here from the us are actually native american...
None of you are REAL americans, don't kid yourself! Unless indians are all coders, not sure about that though! |
|
Love that place. One of the only places in the states I know of that has poutine on the menu!
|
|
The talk above reminds me of Rambo: First blood 2 (yes this was its title), where an Afgan kid asks Rambo where he is from and he replies "California".
Anyway, it is a bit rude not to mention the country and assume everybody knows it is in the USA. Mistakes can happen too, I heard there is at least one city named Athens in every continent. So, let's meet in Athens! |
