I think there is entirely too much fisting going on in these forums.
As for the WTF, is it lack of submittions that are driving down the quality? If there are no not enough good submittions maybe it shouldn't be daily anymore. |

I hate Navisphere! EMC's support for me was not much better than this documentation (or lack thereof)!

Yeah, this is a pretty poor quality WTF... on the other hand, stuff like this makes me laugh. :)

The real WTF is using EMC-equipment
|
|
Documentation is always the LAST thing considered.
The user suffers; but many don't even notice. This made me LOL, also. |

We're trying to decide between spending $50,000 on an EMC SAN versus $30,000 on an HP product (with internal SCSI instead of internal FC). It's wonderful to see that EMC really has their act together.

I'm a technical writer for a software company which had a major release recently. In the last week of that (delayed) release I had to document 5 relatively major items which, until then, I had been unaware of, and then found a couple more. Documentation is a fairly thankless task... |

Perhaps, "Need real Quality Control here, from the Quality Control Group!" would have been more apt?

It sounds like you work with a bunch of slackers. The really talented programmers never would have let you know about those 5 major items if they had their heads in the game. |

What? I don't see any Asterixes there. Hint: that's not how you spell asterisk. I think there was a Dilbert strip about this: "You two, repeat after me: as - ter - isk" "Asteriks" "Asterick" |

The WTF is ( and in many cases) the QA group. Did no one even try to install the final Release CD before shipping it out?

Noting the exclamation point, the person in charge of this form probably was sitting on it waiting for 2 weeks for that information-- then was subsequently de-hired for not being a team player (writing it him/herself).

C'mon, error'ds have a much lower threshold of quality than 500 word essays. Open it, get an instant cheap giggle, move on. |

Heh, it took me a while to get this one, because my browser window was too narrow to fit in the whole picture.
In some ways, I have to agree with some of the previous comments. I enjoy the Error'd posts, but I preferred it when many of them came at once, it was an occasional treat. |

Nothing wrong with creative plurals, but there is a difference between asterisk and Astérix.

What's with the slashdot style tagging department thing - "don't-worry-we'll-remember-to-update-this-before-release department:" ?

That's just one more reason to not buy EMC.
The other being the 30-100k price jump you'll see in your yearly maintenance contract costs in your fourth year. |

And this is why good programmers leave something like "TODO" in their code, and grep everything for "TODO" before releasing.
Of course, it's always fun to get the source of large programs and grep it for TODOs, etc. The most fun comes from grepping for swears:
Captcha: craaazy. Craaazy? Not so much. |
