    Seriously stupid!

  • Blame (unregistered)

How long did it take for a flood in the bathroom to kill the servers?

  • Anonymous (unregistered)

This looks like more of a perk for server admins than a real WTF. Where are they located at, and are they hiring?

  • Dave (unregistered)

I always knew womens restrooms were nicer than what we guys got. Now I see they have server rooms in there too?!?!

  • (cs)

TRWTF: 4u servers in a telco rack.

  • Anonymous (unregistered)

    I'm better than you.

  • jtl (unregistered)

    Not through the floor?

I was so hoping they'd build a trapdoor.

  • Yoooder (unregistered)

That's too good! Just wait until women complain about their bathroom being closed too much, then they'll hire a woman as a 'datacenter operator' or something.

I'm waiting from this moment for the WTF that goes like "So I responded to a strange job posting for a female datacenter operator; I get there and they go to show me where I work and lead me to the handicapped stall of the women's restroom which happens to have a door to a server room. They tell me they'll be installing a fold-up desk in the stall for me, and I can run CAT-6 through the ceiling for LAN and VOIP--but I'll have to vacate the stall if anybody requires the handicapped one.

  • Me (unregistered)

    Reasonably WTFy.

    Alex, I unblocked everything.

Now I have SlyckEdit Banners and TypeMock Banners that you are hosting.

Don't they only have a few days left?

  • Proof (unregistered)

That proves it - servers are more important than women.

Just wait until my next high school reunion, I'll show them and their social adequacy!

  • anonymouse (unregistered)

And the google ad is for "toilet partition hardware"

  • hmmm.... (unregistered)

So if a woman's in the bathroom and she wants to ensure no IT bod wanders through on their way to the server "room" she must also change the sign to "Closed"?

So in effect, only one person can be in either the server room or bathroom at any one time?

    Pics or it didn't...oh wait...

  • C Rogers (unregistered)

No kidding. The picture makes it very hard to see, but it appears that there is not a very good threshold on that door, if any. All it would take is one plugged toilet and water would be entering the server room...

    Think Bat-Pole, or Get-Smart-Phone-Booth mechanism

  • (cs) in reply to snoofle

oops, I forgot to mark it closed, and forgot to lock the handicapped stall, and closed the server room door while I worked for awhile.

(30 minutes later...) Ok, back to the office...

  • Larry Llama (unregistered)

That's not a bathroom with servers. That's a server room with a toilet. Now everybody is going to want one. No reason to ever leave, except to meet the pizza guy at the front door.

It's so... grey and gritty and grotty.

It looks like a film set. In fact, it looks like The Matrix (the first one: it's not green).

Maybe that's one of the magic doors?

  • A Nonny Mouse (unregistered)

Surely there's a building code somewhere that has something to say about this.

  • (cs)

I could just imagine the lawsuit now: Nerdy Server admin was caught today with an elaborate peeping tom setup. He had apparently drilled three holes through the wall and was recording women using the restroom from a server room located in the ladies handicap stall...

  • Grump (unregistered)

I'd hate to have to debug a core dump in there.

  • Landy (unregistered)

Where I work we have some network switches in the woman's restroom out in the shop because that is the only place that is air conditioned.

Gotta knock before you go in to work on the networking gear. At least the gear is inside a locked rack in the corner.

  • Alpha Bette (unregistered)

Relax, it's just another output device.

Everything will be fine until some idiot decides to give it an Ethernet connection, and hackers cause a buffer overflow.

  • eMBee (unregistered)

our bathroom has 5 doors, most of them marked with the usual: men/women. one of them says "for geeks only".

initially i thought maybe it's a shower for those geeks that can't find their way home at night (we actually had a guy camping out in the office for a while) or someone pulling an allnighter.

well after a few weeks i found out that it actually is the server room.

it's not through a stall, but i don't think we have any flodding protection either. i'll have to check :-)

    greetings, eMBee.

    I knew that, too - it's a conspiracy, really.

Only the restroom depicted can NOT be a ladies' restroom. Every essential accessory is missing: the mini-bar with state-of-the-art espresso machine, the couch combination with coffee table, the 65" plasma TV with cable and satellite tuner, the pink and red laptops with 16:9 for internet browsing and Oprah and Dr. Phil webisodes, the bittorrent download and file server/media center with integrated satellite and cable tuners, the cupboard with the emergency make-up accessories ... and and and ...

A customer of mine had a toilet installed in their server room. I guess quite convenient for the times when you need a biology break while nerding in the server room.

The outage resulting from the flooded toilet, however, was not too convenient...

Gramma Nazi alert: "The only available wall to install a door was adjacent to the women's restroom. Inside the handicapped stall." So the handicapped stall was adjacent to the women's toilet?

LOL, good one. Nice to know you dont have to run far to take a big ole dump while working on the switches.

That has drawbacks; somebody else might be taking a big ole dump while you're working on the switches if you don't follow procedure.

Men are getting ripped off, I demand a Wii be installed in the urinals.

It's immature and stupid, which is why I like it!

It's pretty confusing, especially because we have only a single handicapped stall. (You wouldn't put urinals in handicapped toilets anyway.)

By the way, everybody knows how the best ideas always emerge when you're in the thinking booth, right? And how sometimes you forget them by the time you get back to your computer.
