    Go forth and make comic.

Have you completely given up? The artwork is reused from other strips and the joke is missing. I tried to give constructive criticism before, but the best I can come up with now is : Stop. You're embarrassing yourself.
  • A Nonny Mouse 2008-03-10 09:18
ok, that one was slightly better than the rest. still dilbert-esque, but better...
  • PhillS 2008-03-10 09:31
This is much more lame than the original, but it's my "FRIST!!!" and I couldn't think of anything better.

    LOVE IT!

After seeing today's MFD, this is exactly the comic captured my feelings exactly.

    YOU RULE!

So I guess this means that Mandatory Fun Day *is* getting better, if all you can do is nitpick on reuse of art... something which *every* comic strip does...
  • Daniel Beardsmore 2008-03-10 10:32
    Excellent! :D
  • M.C. Sarbanes-Oxalot 2008-03-10 10:35
hahahahah LOL this comic is so retarded. kill it with fire.

It doesn't just reuse art, it reused an entire strip -- after waiting a whopping 7 days since the original. Maybe your favorite webcomic also pulls the same shit (hint: that means it sucks, too), but to me, that's WORSE THAN FAILURE.

  • AbbydonKrafts 2008-03-10 13:22
Yeah. Adblock does take away some of the fun. That's why I haven't blocked the ads here. Irish girl FTW!
  • AbbydonKrafts 2008-03-10 13:24
Hell f'ing YES! That was genius! You must Swampify all of the comics from now on!

    Addendum (2008-03-10 13:44):
You might also consider rounding off his hair instead of the default soft-serve ice cream "style". Spectate has that large 'fro-like thing going on.
  • belgariontheking 2008-03-10 13:38
I agree. +1 very well done.
  • aleph 2008-03-10 13:47

Unlike all MFDs (although I don't hate them) and all the other modified ones, this one made me laugh out loud. Please, please, do more like this.
  • Anonymous Coward 2008-03-10 15:27
I'm sure that post was a clever ploy to get me to turn my adblocking off.
  • JD 2008-03-10 15:38
Thank you! That's the first time I've laughed at anything in MFD since its inception :)

  • EpilepticFridgeBoy 2008-03-10 16:29
    :) I like!
  • rottubarn 2008-03-10 16:58
Thanks for the praise. I've been lurking on TDWTF for some years on and off but only signed up for an account today after spending the last couple of days reading that epic thread of SpectateSwamp's. And he and SSDS have occupied my mind to the point I think it's not healthy anymore (not that it ever was).

I'll see whether I can do more of these with future MFDs. I'm not sure how to work that queer Magenta boss into the Swamp scenario, though. Let's see how it goes.
  • Daniel Beardsmore 2008-03-10 17:00
Well, I was wondering about that, but then, your little finger appears to do 's' too? I don't touch type, though, so I'd press 's' with my left ring finger. 'y' though is of course nowhere close ...
  • Daniel Beardsmore 2008-03-10 17:20
    lol!

You missed out "WFT" though :)

Hmmm, this Chef needs more Pi. And maybe some whipped cream...

You see that? That was also funny. I just made a pun based on the fact that Pi and Pie are pronounced the same, brought in the fact that your character has a chef's hat, and then implied that a chef would need Pi (Pie). I further added whipped cream to complete the illusion that I was referring to Pie the food instead of Pi the symbol.
