Free Sticker! Everyone's a winner today. Make your own comic from the blank and then contact me with your mailing address and I'll mail you a sticker.

Obviously, only reasonable attempts apply. No fair uploading random pictures that you didn't create for this.

Now I'm starting to wonder why some of the other comics were ranked above this comic. This one isn't so bad, but I feel like it beats most of the others by a reasonable amount. Its not drop down hilarious, but the subject matter and mild humor is fitting.

Notice how even though the work was outsourced, the original worker has to stand watch over the outsource contractor.

What does "blin" mean anyway (which is what the cyrillic text says)? Is it a form of expressing an emotion (like "meh" in English)?

    smbarbour:

    Yes.

    smbarbour:
    like "meh" in English

Only without exclamation in some rare situations.

In this context it's mean that things can go wrong.

It's euphemism for another word with first letters "бл".

    P. S.: I am very sorry for my bad English.

In this context, the most appropriate translation is "Fuck!".

    Love this version, BTW.

btw, anyone without access to the server logs will just have to take my word for it that I did this after seeing the front page story with the two highlighted selections and didn't click through to see all the other comments until I had posted it. (Not that it's actually all that unlikely that #294536 and me might be thinking along the same general lines anyway.)

Interesting and suspicious I agree. The front page at tecnamer.net:8080 currently reads "Hacked by Dilberto".

However, there's nothing in that file but a jpg; no embedded executable code of any sort, no executable headers, nothing untoward. If at any point Dilberto does replace it with an exe, our browsers will either attempt (and fail) to render it as jpg (if he keeps the mime-type as jpg) or offer to download/save it (if the mime-type is octet-stream). Either way I don't think we're in much danger from it.

(Maybe if he replaced it by javascript and managed to find a way to break out of the cross-DOM protection or XSS the containing page, he could do something. I wouldn't notice either way - I whitelist sites one-by-one in noscript, so it wouldn't run by default for me anyway, even though I've allowed tdwtf.com. Also most browsers these days ought to reject mime-type=js in response to a GET of an img url= tag, I'm sure that's a late 90s vulnerability I'm remembering back to there...)
