Have a look at http://www.hinserdata.com - this web site must have been made in 1995.
Yep that site is not going to generate sales - on the contrary.

The only thing I can see wrong with this is there's no space in ROASTBEEF.

Reminds me of this fine local website. Pizza isn't half bad, but the website makes me want to vomit. It looks like it used to have some Front Page extensions at one point, but I like that the even the page titles are wrong.

    The goggles! They do NOTHING!!!

If anyone wants to see the official online tutorial of this ordering system - here it is on the manufacturers webpage: http://www.hinserdata.com/TutorialVideo/GourmetPostWeb01Ridotto.htm (warning: it's plays incredibly slow...)

  • urgh (unregistered) in reply to hinser?

Yes, apparently the whole "everybody-logs-on-your-server-via-rdp" concept it's the basis of their flagship product.

    Incredible.

  • jugis (unregistered) in reply to urgh

Hey they don't happen to also have a "client list" on the website, do they? Not that I want to log onto anyone else's server via RDP....ummm, no I'm just curious, yeah yeah that's it. <evil grin>

Is anyone from Italy or familiar with the Italian IT industry? Is this company representative of IT companies there? Is that why Italy is going to need a bailout soon like Greece? :)

They're a mixed bunch, some of whom are very good indeed. I've been fortunate to never meet any who are as bad as the perps who did this WTF though…

Making it in Linux would be cheaper, safer and more effective. You could even provide the user with XML config files for basic ingredient sets.

ssh [email protected] cd ~/pizza_menu sudo order -crust thin -sauce tomato -double-cheese -f hawaii_ingredients.xml -t now

Still, this case SCREAMS for an Enterprise Java application with lots of config files and classes like EnterprisePizzaFactory or TomatoSauceAdapterBuilderFacadeFactory I mean... pizzerias are the flagship of all design pattern tutorials

ConveNtion over configuration! That is mostest safest way of doing all things.

And convection over convention, if we're baking pizzas.

You're too late, waaaaay too late. They fixed everything, and the login id no longer has access to anything fun.
