    April fool?

A breakdown of issues JJ's issues:

    • Constantly finds fault with you.
    • Has a standard but never tells you what it is, only that you're not up it.
    • Makes excuses whenever fault is found with them.
    • No actual value can be attributed to them.

I get the impression it's common for code to run on a test server ok but fail on a production server.

    Loving the buildmaster plug. :)

    What the.... wait, what?

OK it's long, but this is actually damn good and quite fun.

Kudos on yet another awesome April-1 post!!

  • (cs)

That was very nice and well made! Good for listening while at work wink wink.

    Oh right... April.

  • baka0815 (unregistered)

Really good work! Please do more of those! ;-)

  • (cs)

You see, this is what April Fool's day should be for - innovation.

  • (cs)

This was a blast to do, and I have to give an extra shout-out to Lorne- the man wrote, directed, produced, edited, and starred as JJ. He did a great job.

  • (cs)

    Worst of the worst!

    My favorite part.

  • (cs)

I kept thinking of the old I think it was Pace or El Paso salsa commercials. "This stuff was made in New York City. NEW YORK CITY?! Get a rope!"

Addendum (2014-04-01 07:50): I do wish there was a transcript or something though.

  • (cs) in reply to ObiWayneKenobi

I believe there will be one. Don't quote me on that, but I know it was discussed.

  • (cs)

Also, loved the Build Master shill ;-) Nice touch.

Do more of these, not all the time of course but every so often would be awesome.

Dang, knew I forgot something. Will get that posted. Only issue is that a transcript will exclude our visually impaired audience, so I'll also have to run the transcript through a text-to-speech for them.

  • someone else (unregistered)

Funny thing is, working with AX I can completely understand exactly what's going on here...

Can't wait for the transcript though.

  • Mixed Metaphors (unregistered)

I enjoyed bossman's mixed metaphors, but the one that really hit home was Mitch's peptalk at the end, in which he asked Bossman to "box outside the ring".

Doesn't that just amount to assaulting people?

    Needs more Hanzo

Just include a transcript in Braille.

I sincerely apologize for wasting your time. I know you have things to make work. Forgetting the transcript is, obviously, just a noob mistake that wouldn't happen in places like New York City.

TRWTF is that I listened to the whole lot, that's time I will never get back

Please don't do that again :(

    Bravo! That was absolutely brilliant!

And now, thanks to Mitch's rant at the end, I have lots of wonderful insults to add to my lexicon. Thank you!

There's Assault and then there's Battery.

That was awesome - do more of these!!

Typical discriminatory bullshit we've come to expect from the hearing-abled community.

  • (cs)

I found it hard to follow as everyone sounded similar. I also got totally confused as most of the way through Steve was the voice on the phone, but at the end it seemed to be J.J.

  • Paul Neumann (unregistered)

Top rate. Quite the production. Seems like a very capable pod-cast. Or maybe I've just been listening to too many garbage pod-casts lately. Can you believe this guy thinks he can be taken seriously?

  • ubersoldat (unregistered)

Yay! Kind of liked it. Not bad for a first time. Hope to get more of this.

Nice, I'll have to read that transcript later because I'm sure I missed a few jokes due to the combination of not-the-best-of-hearings plus language barrier. Thanks.

"Putting the hammer to the screws" must be the best mixed analogy ever. Coffee, meet screen.

Bah, just realized my last 3 lines are in the "Steve" track with the phone effect. Oh well, the dialog speaks for itself.

Don't worry, it isn't a soap opera. It's a radio drama. You're limited time is safe. You're welcome.

I honestly thought that the survey was hinting that there was going to be a 1st of April hideous redesign that we would all hate. Instead it was something that I actually enjoyed.

    8/10 would listen again

Can't wait until next year's broadcast.

So Alex, Mark, Remy and I used this really cool Int-Or-Net thing to record our voices,... And best of all, not a damn one of you can complain about typos.

I did laugh till I cried a little during the rant at the end. The whole thing started getting good with the siren effect, I wonder if it could've just started there and done all the characterization of JJ as flashback. Good job on all the format issues like sound levels and emotive voice acting. Congrats!

Also thanks to all the commenters who gave this a listen and bothered to compliment, I never would have even tried it if you had been haters.

Frankly, I think the best part of the podcast was the bit with the herd of elephants, the glitter, and the Jovian invasion. Sound effects there were pretty good.
