Maybe the optional accessory is a second steering wheel for Maggie Simpson.

Probably just a leather-wrapped or telescoping wheel option. |
Considering the recent developments in South-Africa, that sign isn't even that strange...

Ah yes, that'll be what it is. Rather than the possibility that the car comes with no steering wheel, or that it's a second steering wheel for Maggie. Thanks for clearing that up. |
LOL, if you try to search for an F-150, you can add in the optional upgrades of "Wheels" and "Pedals"
what are non dangerous weapons then? pillows?
I'm bummed that Amazon did not offer us an I.V. drip to go with the caffeine. That would be really useful.

He could get a Free 512Mb NVidia 8600M GS graphics card upgrade for $149 too!!
Inconceivable! |
Based on the picture, a normal pistol seems to fit the bill. |
So what does it come with standard? A tiller? Maybe handle bars?
The extra memory is indeed free. However, the weight pushes the weight of the whole machine over to the next pricing band for the P&P.
No, I think Costco meant free as in free speech not as in free beer. Just imagine all the freedom your allowed with the extra Gb of RAM and no license restrictions! |
TRWTF is the "help me decide"-link.
To pay or not to pay that is the question. |
I want to meet the railway employee who *enforces* those restrictions. Even on my best day, I doubt I could take on someone armed with an AK-47, a machete, a flail, a mace, _and_ a warhammer.

It used to be that bumpers were an optional item. Now it's steering wheels and peddles. In a few more years, you'll have to pay extra for the doors and windows. |
Yes, but I'm not sure that qualifies as an "accessory." (An Omron HEM-780 certainly doesn't.) The coffee would accessorise the drip, not the other way around. I think they should have offered a tall porcelain coppa with a nice shiny seat in a Tuscan piazza where Claudia Cardinale smiles at you from across the table. Now, that I'd pay $63.98 for. (I've been watching too many Sex and The City re-runs, haven't I?) |

Does anyone know where this picture came from?

When did this become a "funny yet entirely non-computer-related signs" page? Normall we only have roadsigns and such if they're computer controlled. Should I start sending in every typo I see in my local newspaper?
Plus, TRWTF(tm) is that some people still haven't heard that there's actually been quite a lot of crime and violence in South Africa over the past years. Yes, they put that sign up because people WERE getting onto trains with AKs and Zulu-style ceremonial spears. |
Allegedly King Edward V was killed with a pillow |

I will not sit to car driven by Windows. |
Yes, me. The clues were, in no particular order: 1. The Dutch-like language on the sign 2. The picture of a Shaka-style zulu spear. 3. The Afrikaans-sounding name of the submitter. Now you try. |
Another sign that the automakers are following the airlines.

These "errors" suck. About the only legit one is the free upgrade.
TDWTF has become so boring in the last few months and is now biffed from my RSS reader. So long and thanks for all the cheese. |

Try looking into a Jeep Wrangler. Comes stock with half doors and canvas/plastic windows. You have to pay extra to get the full doors with proper glass windows. |
Bonus additional WTF: on two (but only two) of the "dangerous weapons" symbols, the diagonal red line is not through the middle of the circle.
I wouldn't know because I never watched it (I could if I had cable), but I definitely rather have someone younger with me. Say, how about Irish Girl? |
We'll miss you so much! Send us a postcard when you arrive at slashdot |

no, the violence has been recent (except for the violent crime in Jo'burg), the sign symbols are old, i've never seen an AK in public except for cash-van security men. if you have to poke fun at USA and their gun-toting free-country civilians. |
The translation of "No dangerous weapons allowed" is the worst I've ever seen for dutch. Or it is some strange language that's very similar to dutch.
"Geen gevaarlike wapens toegelaat nie" it has to be: "Geen gevaarlijke wapens toegestaan". |
it's called afrikaans. |

The Jeep's top is also an optional accessory ;) |
Umm ... that train sign is from South Africa (the second languages is Afrikaans). The weapons in the lower-right picture are a knobkierie and a traditional spear.
And since it's South Africa, trying to keep people from bringing AK-47s, axes, knobkieries, knives, and spears onto the train is a fairly major problem. Every one of the weapons pictured has been used on their trains. South Africa has one of the highest murder rates in the world. It makes Detroit and Newark seem positively relaxing. This largely explains why we left. |

Yes even the president is not immune to being robbed. But we still love our country, so thank you for leaving Adam, it's your loss, certainly not ours. |
That "no weapons" sign almost certainly comes from South Africa.
The sad thing is that the sign is actually necessary in certain areas of the country. |
there seem to be a lot of south africans here, maybe we should form a DDWDF splinter group :)
Have the rest of us been missing out? All I get is fish. And it comes in this funny blue colour. The cake, is, inevitably, not cheesecake. |
It's an ideal, you fool. Age has nothing to do with it. Otherwise I'd have to start specifying the exact sub-species of civet that processed the damn coffee. Having said that, even now, I'd pay $63.98 to sit opposite Claudia Cardinale. That reminds me -- I must learn to play the harmonica. |
Mind you, the sub-sign is in English and Afrikaans.
Sadly, it might very well be that various shown weaponry is actually in use. |
actually no flail in that picture, just a wristbanded and a flanged mace.

Actually, I think the engine will be the next Optional Upgrade. You really only need it if you want to go uphill.
All the dealer will need to do is make sure the exit from their parking lot is downhill and you won't notice the problem until you have left the lot (of course with a no-return policy). |

Those signs have been here for ages. The "dangerous weapons" on the right are "traditional weapons". |
