TRWTF is charging an asses fee on an ATM amchine. You'd think that was part of the standard service.

Bah. The banks have to assess how much they can gouge you for, before they actually come out with the amount. Kind of like how used car salesmen always open with the question "How much are you willing to spend?", so they know what sort of commission they are shooting for. Don't any of you know how banks work these days?

Re: E-mail with password

They just wanted to make sure that you have a copy that you can print out and tape to your monitor so that you don't forget your password.

You could also argue that this is a security mechanism against someone trying to hijack your account and change your password without you knowing it, in which case there should be a link somewhere for reporting unauthorized password changes (which also allows you to set up a new password, which leads to yet another e-mail with your new extra-secure password for you to print out and tape to your monitor)

Same notification sent to two (well, probably a lot more than two) different people, which two different people submitted it to tdwtf, and since Alex never checks for duplicate entries (another WTF altogether that has been reported many times) they both ended up on today's Error'd.

All the Lenovo drivers seem to work that way. The installer you thought you were running was just an overly fancy archive extractor that extracted the installer to a temp^H^H^H^Hpermanent location on the hard drive.

I think he was trying to install MS Project over an Office installation. Project is not part of Office. And it is not unusual to have Access installation separate from office installations. Also, you should be able to install different versions of Office on the same machine. I have done this in the past.

More pertinently, perhaps - it looks like the amount of the fee overflowed the field, so I'd guess the fee is over $100. Thank G(h)od the bank isn't gouging you for using their effing machine!

Yeah, what he's doing sounds like an unusual edge case. Besides, you'd only expect major software vendors to bother with things like making installers compatible with various different configurations of their own previous products.
