I think the calculus is involved in curtain making because, if your curtains are too similar a colour / pattern to your walls, you won't be able to differentiate them. In fact, they will be so integrated as to be virtually indistinguishable.

Thank you, thank you, I'll be here all week.

The sudoku one kind of makes sense, sort of. The program seems to show the actual time you spent in it solving the puzzle, but also the time since you first saw it. It assumes you're trying to cheat by taking a screen capture, leaving the puzzle, solving it on paper, and then typing the answers really really fast to win. So they offset that by showing the total elapsed time. Meh.

No... It was sudoku.

The "wait over 1000 minutes" ticket is no bug. It simply checks for the difference between the tickets id and the last id that has been marked as "done" by the clerks and doubles the amount. If those are too lazy to use that system and the marker is still at zero the system has to believe that over 500 people are waiting in the lobby. Great. :D

There is no WTF in using maths for sewing. A curtain, viewed from top or bottom, is similar to a sinus curve (here comes pi into paly). The integral of y along s gives the weight of the curtain. The Omega must have something to do with static electricity.

I don't know what's wrong with the last one. It is very colorful, has attractive cartoons and nice round curvy shapes everywhere instead of those awful straight-line square-corner designs that you used to see everywhere. OK there is that one green box near the bottom that is rectangular, that really wasn't necessary, but it is stuffed full of letters so no one will ever look at it anyway. Overall, great job! What's the WTF?

Indeed. The point of shortened URLs is so you can post them in your Facebook or Twitter status, or send them via IM or something similar without them being horribly ugly. When you cover them up with other text like this, using some form of URL shortening is pointless and makes people less likely to follow it.

So they didn't ban parents from playing with their own children in "public parks", but only in two specific parks that they designated as "not public". Oh, okay then, as long as you changed the name, that makes it all okay.

Even if true, this sounds like a lot of political denials that you here: Start out claiming that the story is completely false and just a rumor being spread by extremist opponents of the administration, and end up saying that, well, it's basically true, but it was only 4 of [whatever] and not 5 as reported, and it was not a [descriptive name] but rather a [euphemistic name that means exactly the same thing].

We already have something a lot like that. It's called "public school". As one high school principal put it, in public schools young people are given the opportunity to pool their ignorance, so that by working together they can do things far more stupid than any one of them would have thought to do on his own.
