Here's yet another discovery from Tim Cartwright, found of course in a production system:

Keen readers may notice that despite the ambiguous name, the function is supposed to strip ' and “ characters from a string. Even more keen readers may notice the function doesn't actually do that. Instead, it returns the original string if no quote chars were found, or some strange combination of the quote characters found in the string. Any guess what   how'now'brown"cow   will return? Three points if you said   ''''"".
