Christer Kolterjahn sends in this little anecdote:

In the mid eighties, I once was

computer teacher for a group of 15-year old kids.

Two of the kids wrote on the screen: "Gör spel". Thats Swedish, and means "make game". Nothing happened, and one of them slapped the other and said "moron, it's an American computer!", and then wrote "Make game".

Needless to say, it didn't work...

Thankfully, technology has advanced since then. Everything I post to this blog (including this bemusing sarcastic remark) is accomplished with the single command “post wtf”.
