The text in foreign language on the 4th screenshot is in Czech (though in a bad character set). It means:

    • Create an icon on the Desktop
    • Create an icon in the Quick Start section

Obviously the untranslated text should say something to the effect of "Add Shortcut to Desktop" and the unchecked box should read "Add entry to program group in start menu" (or similar)

Stupid painful past experience with reformatting and running tons of installers has me recognizing patterns in different languages I don't speak!

It is in czech language and says: Create desktop icon Create quick launch icon

"desktopu" is in Czech. "Vytvorit ikonu na desktopu" means "create icon on the desktop" so no mystery at all. :). Clearly a case of perfect translation. :o)

The two strings in the Paradox Data Editor are in czech. Czech language uses many ugly conjugations and declensions (that explains the additional "u") and also accepts some words from english (mostly in IT, as you can see :)) "Vytvořit ikonu na desktopu" means "Create icon on desktop" (although word "desktop" is rather translated as "plocha", but everyone who isn't absolute BFU knows, what "desktop" means) ..and Vytvořit ikonu v sekci rychlé spuštění means Create icon in quicklaunch.

Um.. like.. Matthew G. apparently got a Czech (hacked/de-protected) version of Paradox Data Editor.... It roughly translates to "Additional Icons: Create a desktop icon / Create a Quick Launch icon"

Guess a de-protected Paradox is a bit better than a Czech bride... :P and I should know, I have one....!
