    Although I know the old pipes screensaver used up 100% of the CPU, how exactly does this relate to openGL? If it uses openGL, it should be rendered on the videocard not the CPU?
    Older video cards, especially for servers that don't need 3D, didn't handle 3D. OpenGL would use software rendering in that case.

    i saw a similar story ending: the idiot in charge-who never did anything but stare at the screensaver-refused to let them remove it, so they had to get a new, MORE EXPENSIVE, computer JUST for him to stare at the screensaver...

    i seem to remember a similar story where they had to give the bossa second computer, not on the network, with a fancy screensaver and NOTHING ELSE, in order to stop him from messing everything up AGAIN.
