I don't understand that either. Here they are in a job where every letter counts and where any typo can lead to disaster (ask NASA about commas and full stops), and they can't spell or look things up in the language specification (also known as dictionary).
Was it Knuth or Weizenbaum who said being able to write was a prerequisite for programming? He should have added being able to spell.
