    Seems like a waste of time to code something new for that when there is the BSD game wtf (from http://www.advogato.org/proj/bsd-games/) unless maybe it's something that lives in an icon tray or on the web or something.

    I agree.

    Although in practice, when searching for acronyms I often use acronymfinder.com via google: <search-thingie> site:acronymfinder.com

    for ( int i = 0; i < test.length(); i++ ) { if ( test.charAt( i ) != 'X' ) { retVal = true; } }
    Now, I'm not very experienced when it comes to coding, but wouldn't that just return true if there was a 'X' at any point in the string?

    I would love to see what this guy would have come up with if someone had asked him for something like "Hey, you've got that AJAX stands for 'Asynchronous JavaScript and XML' but we need to know if the acronym contains an acronym, and if so, what it stands for."
    GNU?
