In my experience the term der Quelltext (the source text) is more common, although I would also understand Quellcode.

This is actually not that bad. I think I'd rather have "table 1..31" and figure out myself what is in them rather than deal with their being misnamed. Additionally, if the original author was comfortable using those names, there's a good chance that there's some rhyme or reason to the scheme.
