The WTF is very strong in Ryan's contribution.
There are three items, the frist, the other frist, and the snecod, which is thrid in the list. What's worse is that the frist and the other frist share the same description, which is completely unrelated to "German Brat", and they aren't the same price.
Regarding the "arbitrary Gregorian divide", it's worth remembering that in England, when this divide was an arbitrary Julian divide (before 1752), it was between the 24th and 25th of March, so yes, it's completely arbitrary. (The 25th of March (Julian) corresponded at that time to the 6th of April (Gregorian), which explains why the tax year in the UK starts on 6 April and ends on 5 April the next calendar year.)

Some of those are simply what happens when controls on a form each have their separate query, which are run separately outside a transaction, and the database changes between two of the queries. There are plenty of "frameworks" that don't make it easy to do a single consistent query and feed different bits of data through different routes through the wiring to different controls, and, no doubt, plenty of people who CBA to work out how to such any such features that do exist.

Even ye olde "cal 9 1752" worketh as thy intended - in 2022.

(3.89 * 2 - 0.64) *2 = = 14.28. Still off by 0.03, but I think that's how they did it. WHY they did it that way is beyond me.
