So ... TRWTF is being still at your computer at ten to four in the morning?

  • (nodebb)

I wonder if Andrea lives in a country where the dot is used as thousands separator instead of decimal separator.

200 characters post code? We needed that for intergalactical mail for gigayears, duh!

  • I dunno LOL ¯\(°_o)/¯ (unregistered)

Avionics software no, pilot vacation scheduling software, very possibly.

  • boone (unregistered)

    restart, reschedule, yeah whatever.

    your problem is?

Magneto sounds like a horrible ecommerce platform. It has its flaws but I prefer Magento.

Regarding it being 03:51, it could be a screenshot from remote machine in a different time zone. I don't know if Windows remote-GUI protocols transmit the preferred timezone, but I guess not as it's likely to trigger a fountain of bugs in various applications.

TBF Magento is pretty horrible too!

  • What? I'm not giving you my name. (unregistered)

"I sure hope that these developers didn't write the avaionics software." Yeah! null to null shouldn't take more than 20 minutes. There is obviously an error with the software.

So did machine learning already find out that the subject of an invite does not influence the people attending or is that still something to figure out

  • Steve (unregistered)

Null is very beautiful this time of year, but it can't compare to Null.

  • Dan (unregistered)

I've heard of avionics software, but what does avaionics software do?

Some countries out there must have some crazy postal codes.

It’s for when postcodes get updated for the 21st century: as a hash of the full address using SHA4-1536, leaving eight characters as separator spaces to make it more easily human-readable, not to mention allow line-wrapping when printed.

Setting up a Magneto shop will drive lots of new customers to your site - obviously, because moths have always been well-known to be attracted to LAMPs. And they can probably check out any time they like, but they can never leave...

  • Friedrice the Great (unregistered) in reply to Gurth

Wait, I thought it included a hash of your genetic code for full identification?

  • pto (unregistered)

The postcode one sort of makes sense. There are lots of countries that don't have a postcode, e.g. New Zealand, where you end up having to use the town name.

Windows is a service now? What OS runs it?

  • (nodebb) in reply to Diane B

    VirtualBox.

  • Decius (unregistered) in reply to Dan

Avionics software does things like take input from an ASDE transponder, GPS, and VOR/DME equipment and create a display that either provides a resource to aid situational awareness (for the expensive stuff), or provides a display that is legal to use for navigation in conditions where visibility is inadequate (for the REALLY expensive stuff).

It's also equipment that can cause other equipment to crash if it crashes.

  • Paul (unregistered) in reply to pto

New Zealand has 4 digit postcodes these days.

  • (nodebb) in reply to The_Quiet_One

OTOH, Magento somehow makes me think of Mandatory Pun Day ...

" There are lots of countries that don't have a postcode, e.g. New Zealand"

Then what is the 0600 I put in my address?

We have them, put don't tend to use them for private mail. Companies do as there are bulk mailing discounts when they are used.

  • (nodebb)

I've turned on all the relevant settings but Windows still manages to sneak in an automatic reboot without me seeing so much as a warning... At least the Mac aborts the reboot if you have work it can't save.

  • David (unregistered)

Reprocessing customer data for one of our clients, I found a record where the postcode field contained: If nobody is in please leave the parcel in the shed by the back door

  • (nodebb)

I managed to catch that update notification on a different PC... maybe my other PC was out-of-date (oh the irony...)

  • doubting_poster (unregistered) in reply to pto

the real wtf is the submitter thinking you can do with less. There indeed must be some countries out there with long strings instead of postal codes. These people at least gave it a shot, though why 200 characters confuses me. If you're going big, go adequately big.
