    F indeed.

Generate those clicks by knocking a pair of steel balls together. A distinctive sound that is audible to dogs over a long range.

Holy Electrified Collar -- it's a real thing! And, while we're at it, how about discussing the fact that we can get $70 off an item that costs $2.34? I'm almost willing to splurge and see what shows up!

In the tweet, the URL is almost worse than the German. They put a space after each dot so it's not clickable. And why plaintext http. And it's twitter, why not just put @ubisoftde . Seems Ubisoft are getting conned by a "social media expert".

TRWTF is the weird font/characters you had to put &# in, presumably because your own software doesn't support HTML entity encoding properly either?

(I wonder if this comment will format correctly ...)

WRT ' ... I had a similar problem with some of our internal corporate software, where a fairly ordinary character that I typed into a form got displayed in HTML entity form in the result. So I filed a trouble ticket describing the problem... and where I typed the HTML entity in the trouble ticket, it got rendered as the original character.

Yeah, that happens a lot with MS Office's "Smart Quotes" (both single and double)

  • (nodebb)

Hah! I typed & # 39 ; in my previous note, and the forum software turned it into an apostrophe!

    Doesn't seem to work here

    Test some more - ' ' ' Nope, it doesn't work

    I think your brower's broken.

The amazon thing is a well documented namespace collision between localized amazon versions. The itemid isn't a guid, and sometimes two items get created with the same itemid, in different localized versions of amazon. Typically you get the pictures showing up from the other listing, and if you figure out the zone with the collision, you'll probably see some dog training device being marketed as men's underware.

Nobody noticed the second-to-last thumbnail for the "clicker" appears to be female? (Or is that observation still held?)

@Edd: Given that the phone's also plugged in, 100% is hardly surprising.

@David: At Bananafish's link you'll see the rollover colors are A, B, C, D, etc., for most of them. Not great merchandising, but not totally insane either. Displaying the placeholder value the marketing team put into the database is hardly a dev WTF.

@Bananafish: Good bet for $2.34 it's a dog clicker. I also note your link says the product only comes in one size. Unlikely to be men's underwear. The word on the underwear waistband is "YUTATA" or maybe "VUTATA". Neither of which Amazon's search can find. Although Asian products decorated with nonsense words in Latin script are hardly rare. The various colors sell for different prices: $2.34, $2.36, $2.37, $2.70, & $8.00. Though the $8.00 is supposedly a 4-pack. All in all a good find. Since they're all with free shipping even for a non-Prime members like me I bought one just to see what shows up.

@Don Wright: Good eye. At least the models appear to be compatible ... err umm ... models. And ref the various prices, for once the female product at $2.36 is cheaper than than most of the male products

Well we only need a policeperson who once bought a ubisoft game and their staff will walk out in protest, so that's easily fixed, right?

UbiSoft UK was simply trying to experiment with new versions of the Killer Joke.

Ubisoft was probably just trying to write "modern German", which means to randomly add or remove spaces before, around, and after punctuation marks so they do no longer follow the correct rules for their application. Space after period is correct and trivial. Slashes are often (but not always) followed by a space/ like this, and dashes- are sometimes used similarly, while question marks and exclamation marks are prefixed with a space, and sometimes repeated !! Do you understand ? Oerbert Allis ! Die endert die Mittelachter und die Graf. Alles muss Mittelsmetz gestraffen sein !!
