In the frist one, the code to enter is "out of coupon". No WTF here!

Maybe they were planning on only issuing a limited number of electronic coupons? After all, a promotion is there to tempt you into the shop, not to allow the entire population of the planet to bleed the company dry.

Windows activation on an ATM? urrrrrrrrgh.

More to the point, perhaps, looking at the visual style, Windows XP activation.

I had an ATM reboot OS/2 on me, some years ago ...

And I had a ticket vending machine of the Dubai metro crash (Windows) after taking my money and before printing my ticket. Although there were employees nearby, they wouldn't refund me. Granted, it was only ~$1, but still theft.

Those iPad princes are simply incomparable!

But actually, what's with that "best balance of performance and value" marketing speech? Are they saying a higher value iPad has lower performance generally, so you need to find the right balance? Well, this might explain things ...

I always suspected that Apple was just making up prices for its iProducts...

Regarding the ATM, I used to work on POSs, and they used a special version of Windows (based on XP) that was designed for that sort of pseudo-"embedded" application. I don't remember it having an activation though.

In fact, given the icon, it's most probably Windows 7. Could also be Vista in theory. "Windows 2000" look was available easily up until Windows 7, it's still in the system but impossible to activate by normal users on Windows 10.

It was called oddly enough "Windows XP Embedded". At work I still use some older Tek and HP o'scopes that run on XP Embedded.

I once changed my Microsoft password, and the next day I got a message, “Please change your password. Password expires in 364 days.” I wish I had a screenshot to prove it.

The one I worked with was actually called POSReady, which is apparently a branch of XP Embedded. For all the difference that makes to my previous post :P

Based on the font rendering and icon, that is Win7.
