    Actually had something like this happen to me at a dentists appointment some time ago. I was more like 5-10 minutes late, and they turned me away despite the fact that I'm pretty sure I would have waited just as long before they called me back for the appointment. To be fair, though; they were probably booked full for the morning at least and had already written me off (after some smaller amount of grace period) and didn't have room to just shuffle things around a little to accommodate my lateness.
