If the routes are listed in a database, then it's only fair that data is written to a code file. I think it would work especially great if the language is PHP.

Hmm. Where have I heard that idea before? Oh, yeah, https://thedailywtf.com/articles/Classic-WTF-The-Storray-Engine

I am reminded of the days when software was carried around on big reals of half inch mag tape. A colleague was entering a country with the latest code for a particular system The customs official stopped him and said "is that a program or data on that tape?" My colleague wanted to know what difference it made. "If it's a program, it has a value and we have to charge an import duty. If it's data, we don't." (This was many years ago.)

"it's data", said my colleague, which was true - it was data to be fed into a Cobol compiler.

My right eye started twitching the moment I read 'implemented their own authentication system in the database'...

The social media giants of this world will be bemused to learn that the data they collect has no value. Unless they know more than the customs officer...

If that’s the only thing that broke in the massive refactoring, I’d say Anonymous did a pretty good job!

The lie is that there were tests for this application. Nice try Remy...

The lie is that the tests actually did something useful, instead of being tautological.
