To be fair, other programs got there way before Discourse: [image]

I always recognize Finnish by the number of [ä]s it contains. I'd love to learn that language, if only more than 5 000 000 people would use it. (On a side note: read Nuova grammatica finlandese, translated as New Finnish Grammar, from Diego Marani!)

Brings to mind the vast downloadable product called "Instaclient" from the big red database company.

This picture makes me angry because clearly the software that's producing the message is *nix-based. You can see

Companies always do crap like that. They give you a "free" drone and then mark up the PC price by 1000449.99. But hey, at least the drone is free.

I'm glad they included a $99.99 discount on the Alienware - that makes all the difference.

"Installation is failure"? That sounds 1984-ish.
Yep, definitely 1984-ish. Must have been sneaked into the code base by that global super-domination O/S manufacturer who shall ever remain nameless.

You mean… Cthulhu Associates?

I think that's the "joke".
The software is partimage, which is open source. Website design is pretty hilarious, too.

I like how that has Linux-style device names, but it "must be a Microsoft product".

Worse than that, it sounds like Dwarf Fortress

Close enough.

Well, the product description for that Alienware says processors - plural. Perhaps it has an obscene number of CPU's and is in fact made for building neural networks? I don't think it still qualifies as a laptop if so, though, considering it would have to be... probably several feet tall, at least, to still be a 17 inch computer, and have a million dollars worth of CPU's.

I think you'e overlooking the major benefut of the Alienware deal: shipping is free. Sweet.
