Since I'm the resident friendly DBA, I thought I'd shed some light on that error for those not familiar with SQL Server transaction logs.
That error message usually indicates that either the log has a hard set size limit that was hit, or that the log grew enough to fill the volume it resides on.
Some things to check are:
AutoGrowth is on and set to an appropriate growth size (not a percentage!).
If full recovery model, How often are log backups taken. This is needed for the log to recycle itself. You may want to take a log backup as part of the upgrade if needed.
Can you add space to volume?

The fun part is that the error is technically correct, since NOTHING the running script did could have been foreseeably prevented or corrected by the running script without intelligence; a run-time error thrown by the underlying subsystem.
