Here's today's textless. As for 1.23, bstorer (with #186547) definitely set us up for AbbydonKrafts' artsy-yet-creepy Dreams of Erica, which then led to The Real WTF's #186571 and Whoey's #186737.

<quote>I should also note that this is a trial run of MFD; so far, only twenty-five episodes are planned, and they will run M-W-F. If you come to like the comic after a couple weeks, then please let me know.</quote>
Dear Alex, i'm letting you know that I'm not letting you know.

I'm shocked. I didn't even know MFD had artwork, plotlines or character development.
Admin
ahahahhahaha good one

Umm... feature this comment ASAP. Agree 100%

Front page material.

I thought MFD was just an excuse to get everyone else to do their own comic.
Maybe instead of the original MFD's there should just be themes: "Today the theme is having lunch with a hippy/opensource/MUD guy. Everyone do that or anything else as desired. Bonus points for hot t-shirt girl."

I disagree somewhat with the variable weight of the lines - the dirty secret of many cartoon artists is to draw big and reduce - variable lines don't reduce that well because you lose a lot of detail. With that said, I prefer my Sakura Pigma Brush Pen for a lot of my work (read:I like variable lines)
Knowing George McD. only by his description you click on the posting, I think the writing suffers from his lack of corporate IT experience.
Admin
(rats, comment got cut off)
Really what could help the writing is if George had been that IT guy fresh from college who was the code-monkey contractor. Or better yet, got thrown into some maniacal, home grown / 3rd party fusion app that is critical to the bottom line of "insert mega corp here"

No. You lose.

LOL at Ballmer, after the accident.

Never mind your mother, she's PMSing.

My first EVER comment on WTF. I was going to sign up just to post PLEASE STOP, but I see someone else has posted this with more erudition than I could ever manage. I read WTF via RSS. Even just seeing the headline hurts.
Please stop.

rofl!

Absolutely brilliant, well done. I second the request that MFD would be better (cough) if only done once per week, or even once every two weeks. Spend just a little bit of time on writing (even if the drawing continues to be substandard) and it would be appreciated.
Nearly all of the "response comics" are at least somewhat funny when compared to the original, and frequently MORE funny. MFD has usually been worse than adding together the worst elements from Family Circus, Garfield, User Friendly. At least each of those have SOME single redeeming quality, whether it be artwork or character development. Oi.

Nice one!! One of the best parts of Transformers the movie, for sure.

Too bad I'm hosting with shitty Geocities (I already had a site from way back when, what can I say??) and the bandwidth runs out ridiculously fast :(
Admin
I appreciate the fact that someone took the time to fully explain the different problems they have with the comic and makes full arguments to show their reasoning.
Much better than just saying "this sucks, i will never read WTF again!!@!!"
I also appreciate that unique content is tough to do and I am quite curious to see what MFD evolves into.
Admin
ObiWayneKenobi: Use ImageShack. I have yet to hit a bandwidth limit.

I have nothing more to add other than "Me Too!" and "can u email me the codez"
Pile it on.

This is really a good comment. I agree with a lot. If MFD is continued, which might not happen. I guarantee the outside line thickness will increase. I've been looking at a lot of other comics and am realizing my mistakes. We're working on the humor as well- especially what works and what works over time. In the future hopefully each comic will individually be funny, and will not be just a bland bridge to get to the next comic. I really enjoyed this comment it took a lot of thought and creativity.
Admin
Well, if you're going to improve it, I say keep going on this thing. Especially if the style gets consistent day to day. Was this whole story arc just to get him to Google or something?
Admin
Admin
So, leave then.
Admin
The point was not that I hate the comic and I'm leaving and I'm never coming back. The point was that I like the idea and I'm glad that George is trying it, but there's a few things about it that should be improved in order to make it interesting. The point was to provide constructive, honest criticism.
Admin
Best one yet!
