The 2.2 comics were pretty sweet!YAYitsAndrew started things off really strong with 202585 ("doesn't work well with Sun" -- very clever!), and TakeASeatOverThere contributed a fun original (202608). But I have to say... my favorite had to be smileyface's 203144; the animation adds like 10 points. Though, I definitely did appreciate Matt C.'s Mandatory Lyle Reference in 202607. As for the MFD Bashing, postman was the clear winner with202862.
As for today... here's your word-free version.

Score one for the laser beams! Now, where are the sharks?

I agree, how hard is it

The bubbles don't make sense on this one. You're supposed to read the young guy first, but he's to the right. You end up reading the, er "punchline", before the set-up.
Simply mirroring the image solves this problem.

Caught! Red handed!
I had the intent of trying to exaggerate the perspective just a little bit so that I could give the illusion of added depth. However, despite my best intentions, it didn't turn out to be like adding salt to a recipe - just added a little bit too much.
All that said, I personally am pretty happy with how it turned out.
P.S. Those really are some nice laser beams

I don't know why I called him the Corruptor. He doesn't really corrupt anything. And he's not really going to be doing much coding with big ol' arms like that.

What YAYitsAndrew said. This one isn't so much incompetently written as incompetently laid out. Left-to-right. LEFT... TO... RIGHT. Is that so hard to understand?
Also, the "Kraken" is clearly just a Beowulf cluster. Something the author of this strip has probably never even heard of.

What's wrong with you.. this page is to be read top down like any other page in any other comic.
Admin
Mirror the image (not the text, lol!) and tell me it isn't clearer which bubble should be read first?
We could argue top vs left all day but I submit to you the ultimate solution, top AND left!
Admin
Some say that he can tame the Kraken... and that if he did an MFD strip, it might actually be funny.

Q: What does a 30 foot bio-mechanical cowboy from the future corrupt?
A: Anything he wants.
<Badump-ching!>
Very nice mashup, btw!

Excuse me, but some people ease up on the art thing a bit.
This is not intended to be the magazine comic world. Editorial and strip comic art is often pretty lame; for examples, consider Frank and Earnest, Get Fuzzy, or Pigs Before Swine (all of which I like, BTW).
Comics in this mileau are about the joke, not about the art (unless the art is part of the joke). If these were about art, we'd put them in the Lovre rather than read them for humor of it (and post them on the cubical walls).
Frankly, I can't wait to see more of the weird things aboard the Lady L'Amour. Frankly, I think Gilroy had better brace for a year worse than last (if that's possible).

If the STIG did an MFD, all the characters would be completely silent.

Thank you! :)

Mr. First has built this gigantic rig purely for the purpose of intercepting when a new MFD is posted, making a mashup and posting to get first post.
Mr. First, I salute your ingenuity and resourcefulness.

Ok, I bit. Here's a flipped version.

I briefly considered a Minor in "Comic Dialog Layout and Design" from State U but opted for Comp Sci instead. Woulda...coulda...
Still though, I'm happy with the end result, so there. ;-)
