Mason breathed in the musky aroma of the alien dragon princess and started feeling himself having an unexpected erection. The "princess" scuttled over and touched him with a scaly-webbed finger and moaned "give it to me boy!"

... then suddenly the wet dream ended and Mason woke up in his greasey, stained mattress in the cheap hotel he just paid $15 for in order to have an hour of sinful pleasure with the nude forms next to him.....

    no laughing matter:
Fact worth knowing (but totally made-up): Being an Ayn-Rand-fan, Steve Jobs decided that the language of choice for iOs is Objective-C!

If that was true, he'd be using Objectivist-C, wouldn't he? ;)

Sounds about that is the one:

    An Introduction to Objectivist-C:
Although academic computer scientists have generally dismissed Objectivist-C, it has a zealous following among self-taught programmers and college sophomores. ...
      [printer print:hello inExchangeForUSDollars:2.00];

... (Another principle that Objectivist-C software engineers have little use for is Don’t Repeat Yourself.) ... In Objectivist-C, there are not only properties, but also property rights.
Yep. That is the programming language to program those 775,000 apps (of which most cost money).

I'd like to see some of that Romanian code you were talking about as well.

So, is TRWTF that a political dispute results in loads of unrelated stuff being shutdown...
The real WTF is that if you or I threatened to shut down the US government, we would be promptly thrown in Guantanamo as terrorists. But somehow nobody is doing anything about all these terrorists up in the White House.

Every last congressman/representative and even the damn president should at the very least be fired immediately.

    1. Outsourcing to an Eastern European company. How did they find this company? I'm guessing Google. 2. The company specializes in iOS to Android conversions. How do you know? By reading the company's website. And we know that no one can lie on the internet, right? 3. It's clearly a tight schedule; so the conversion company is not given enough time to get it right; and the VampMobile company does not have enough time to do testing before releasing it. 4. SOMEONE at VampMobile should have done some basic testing before putting it in the store. If they had, the WTF story would have been more like:

    A) VM hires some Eastern European company they found on the internet to do the conversion. Maybe they were actually competent, maybe not. VM doesn't give them enough time to do a competent job anyway.

    B) VM discovers that the android conversion is crap.

    C) The guy who hired the conversion company is fired.

    D) VM scrambles to find a competent US company to do another conversion. This is done on even a shorter, tighter timeframe, costing 10 times as much as the previous effort.

    E) Now we are finally at the point where the app is put into the store. What do the users think?

That would have been a better story I think.

VM is the Eastern European company. So what you said makes some sense if an Eastern European company is outsourcing to yet another Eastern European company... etc. etc.

That's what happened in Australia in 1975. Opposition controlled Senate wouldn't let the new budget pass so the Governor General (the Queen's local representative) fired the PM and everyone went to the polls to vote again.

They thought about using Barack O-Java, despite the fact that the ability to create and manage your own objects directly was removed and placed in the hands of the much slower governm-- er, garbage collector. They didn't though, because they found that in the end, none of the math added up right.

TRWTF is lazy nationalistic stereotyping by the author. It's Romania, so let's get some werewolves and vampires in the story because, without them, it's a single paragraph WTF and not worthy of the front page.

Not quite as bad as the terrible Scottish diatribe from a few months back, but just as lazy

    This.

That's right! I saw that on a TV commercial. (Commercials can't lie either.)
