Unfortunately, the second link to the Polish site really directs you to the Russian one :-(

    Note from Alex: fixed!

that's just the obligatory WTF :)

  • Jay (unregistered)

I wonder if there's English translation available somewhere.

  • PR (unregistered)

The real WTF is that the second link points to the Russian version :)

  • Bat (unregistered)

"The link to the Polish site is the real WTF..."

I'm very pleased with myself that I recognised that the lower link is (was?) to a Russian version. All it took was a totally different alphabet and the word "Русский" (which I can just about read as "Russkii") and I figured it out. Gosh I'm clever!

  • Maciek (unregistered)

Finally. I am pleased to read such info. BTW : the redirection is done to russian WTF.

ah... I just doubted my Language-Knowledge as I thought: "since when do es polish use the cyrillic alphabet?"

  • Erat (unregistered)

It might be a good idea to also add it to the "languages" list on the left.

  • Fluxid (unregistered)

    Second link is wrong...

I'm happy to hear about polish version. I already know stuff i found there, but maybe now there will be much more :)

    Now that's a commitment :)

  • Mr Fudge (unregistered)

Could we please have a TheDailyWTF in Klingon?

<hint> estonian WTF would be nice :) </hint>

To be honest - if the guys wont be able to to differentiate a real WTF story and a "bash-kind-of-humor-ending-only-with-an-'wtf?'-question" soon, and keep up posting the latter ones, it'll be a much better idea to simply translate english WTF's into Polish...

tried to add a comment on the polish site:

" Our reader Ilya Druzhnikov much surprised when I saw in Delhi effects of indiyskiyh methods. Уверен, это потрясение не прошло для него даром, и он подбрался еще на один маленький шажок ближе к пониманию сути индийского кода. I am sure this is not the shock has passed a gift for him, and he podbralsya for one small thing closer to understanding the essence of the Indian code. "

Is that English or Polenglish ?

  • Cloak (unregistered)

oops, didn't see that it was a google translation. sorry

  • Cloak (unregistered)

TRWTF is that it is in Polish and I can't read it. Only, it seems that there are other WTFs than on the English site. Do they not share their experience like the other localized sites do? that reminds me of the first comment I posted here.

    1. Translate using Google.
    2. E-mail the result to yourself.
    3. Print out the e-mail.
    4. Place on a wooden table.
    5. Take a picture.
    6. Scan in the picture.
    7. E-mail the picture to yourself.
    8. Post on the InterWeb.

    Viola! English translation.

For the same reason we have the metric system. You'd hope most programmers would understand the benefit of standards...

    "A foreign language?"

Basically, we can all learn a hundred languages, or we can all learn one language. Why are some people so lazy that they don't bother learning English?

Google's Russian to English translation makes me laugh everytime :D

«Отлично, а с ассемблерными вставками доводилось работать?» "Excellent, but with assemblernymi insertions have to work?"

«Да, вообще в последнем прое-» "Yes, even in the last pro-"

Wayne interrupted him again. «Насколько вы знакомы с многозадачным программированием?» "As far as you know multitasking programming?"

Ben began, it was the usual talk about multitasking programming beginning 90 - x, but noted that Wayne had already switched to his notebook. He wrote something in the notebook, occasionally agreeing with Wayne casual "Cheers."

«Отлично», опять перебил Уэйн. "Excellent", Wayne interrupted again. «Теперь посмотрите на этот код. "Now look at this code. Скажите что здесь не так». Tell me that it is not so. " Он передал Бену блокнот с написанным от руки кодом на С. He handed Ben notebook with handwritten code written in C.

     int i;  char *p = 0x10000;  for (i = 0; i < 1000000;i++)   {     *p++ = 0;  } int i; char * p = 0x10000; for (i = 0, i <1000000; i + +) (* p + + = 0;)

Ben integer overflow stating the obvious, then added, "but personally I would simply used memset".

«Отлично», сказал Уэйн, «вы приняты! "Excellent," said Wayne, "you are taken! Сможете приступить немедленно?» Can you begin immediately? "

The current population of Poland, according to the CIA, is 38,518,241. It's safe to say that most of them speak Polish as their preferred language. There are probably a few million Polish speakers in various other countries, as well. So bug off.
