Also, why not the other way around ("Until must be at least 1 hour after Any Time After")? Sounds to me a lot less confusing!

  • Watson (unregistered)

....is that whoever wrote the message used "1" instead of "one".

Any value for "Time After" must be at lease one hour before the value for "Until".

Really, I read that error message and even after putting in the implied quotes (use-mention distinction, anyone? Twice? Per-field? ) I'm still in mind of voicemail interfaces telling me that I "have/4/saved messages".

...an Until only 1 Hour after a Time After. Surely some sadocourierist's idea of a sick joke.

  • James (unregistered)

It's a pretty weak WTF when the message can be cleaned up with a few quotation marks or maybe the word "field" once or twice.

"Any Time After" must be at least one hour before "Until"

The Any Time After field must be at least 1 hour before the Until field

Of course, there's still better ways to word it, but in the context of what I assume he was filling out, I wouldn't have had to read it more than twice to figure it out. Meh.

Well, you're a clever man, James, but you're reading it through the eyes of a professional nerd. Try reading it through the eyes of a non-technical person who just wants a package delivered. It's utterly mystifying.

Sorry, maybe that one is unknown outside Sweden.

Melchior is either a fan of opera, 16 liter bottles, or Chrono Trigger, or maybe he just has a weird name

Isn't Melchior one of the traditional names of the Three Wise Men from the Bible? (Along with Caspar and Balthasar)

You are right, of course. And Jake appears to be in need of brushing up his general education ....

Does anyone else get annoyed when people try to use their "superior intellect" to explain away EVERY "WTF?" on this site? Because I certainly get annoyed by that.

Because you lack a "superior intellect"?

Technically, there aren't Three Wise Men in the Bible. There are only some unspecified (and unnamed) Wise Men who deliver three gifts. Maybe that's the real WTF.
