    A note: for ReCaptcha, only one of the words is the actual captcha, and the other one is some word that failed an OCR scan from Google Books. The easy ones here have all been recognized already, so essentially all that's left are words scanned upside down, mathematical formulae, and non-Latin scripts.

    You can just type in the word of your choice there. If enough other people pick the same word, it'll even show up in Google Books as that word! Neat!

    Nah, that'd be a waste of time. That's almost certainly the OCR-failed word not the real captcha test word... just type anything for it and enter the other word which is clearly legible.

    I ran into a captcha once that basically read like this: //////// Supposedly this could be parsed into V's and W's and M's and I's, but the combinatorial numbers were impressive. Probably NP-complete, and if anyone every answered the captcha he would win a Nobel Prize.

    And yeah. Hebrew consonants: not that hard to input. Hebrew vowels: way harder. So just do like the Bible, and only input the consonants! (I studied Hebrew for a little as a kid. I could at one point read it in the sense of mindlessly converting characters to sound; not so much in the sense of comprehending what I was reading.)

    Specifically, Jews of all nations are taught to read Hebrew so that they can read from the Torah (the five books of Moses), even if it is only for their bar-mitzvah.

    If it were some obscure word, or possibly even a fairly common modern word, then you might have a point about the odds of multiple people knowing it. But in this case, it's one of the most common words in Biblical and liturgical Hebrew. Just about every Jewish person would recognize it, even people who aren't in any way fluent in modern Hebrew.

    I don't see what the problem with the fifth one is. It clearly says: אֱלֹהֶיךָ vCuFai

    The second word is harder, because it's not really a word, and can never tell whether, when they say case doesn't matter, do they mean we can do without the diacritics (i.e., is אלהיך also accepted, except, of course, without the diacritics most people would actually spell that אלוהיך)

    Yes, commenters above me said it already. It's in Hebrew, and probably scanned from a book.
