I'm pretty sure that bashing adulterers runs in everyone's family.

Admin
Note to self: No soliloquies...
Admin
I'm more concerned with the fact that gmod $10 has been out for a year now and this guy's still on 9.
probably because you have to pay for gm10 but whatever.
Admin
It's amazing how stupid some of the search tool and store links can be, especially e-bay. Some years back I was looking up a medical radioisotope--and got a e-bay ad for it!
Admin
No, it's just that it took over a year to finish updating to gmod 8. He'll start updating to 10 next year, by which time... --Rank
Admin
It's a pretty interesting CD even by Glass standards.
Admin
Another example for inappropiate contextsensitive ads:
[image]The news article titles "To line up for food" (it's an article about refugees in Kosovo), while the ad shows "Bring your family with you!".

Admin
The father figure in that sport ad seems so happy and enthusiastic!
Admin
Alas, googling for senators or representatives yields disappointing results.

Admin
Is worse than failure unsigned? If not, I think that first one is so bad it may come back as better than success.
Admin
The best thing about the "Do sport run in your family" ad was that if you moved your mouse over the ad, the dad and kid would throw the "stones" at you. Hilarious. I sat at that page for at least 10 minutes laughing before I grabbed that screen shot.
Note the anger in the child's eyes.
Admin
That steam screen shot looks edited the bg on the text just doesnt look like the rest of the bg.
Admin
I don't know what exactly that was sitting next to the "father" but it looked like a retarded midget.
Admin
Sometimes you can get results when looking for black people or child slaves.
Admin
Yeah, but you were first!!!!!1!!!
Admin
(obligatory geek whine) The first screenshot was a JPEG in the sidebar posting (83 kb) but has now been re-saved as PNG. All the original artifacts now 3x the size!
Admin
Priceless! lol!
Admin
Presumably it's the milkman's son.
Admin
The real WTF is that they stone people to death like it's 2,000 years ago . . . and they justify it through religion.
No, no . . . I will be impartial and just. I will try to see their logic.
ETA: 1 year
Admin
I'm wondering the context of the ads for the debt thing...
Admin
I want some debt! Where do i sign up? 7-14 days for delivery of debt, right?
Admin
To anyone looking for debt: I have several for sale, shucks, I'd even be willing to give them away to the right owner!
Admin
That's ok. Most senators and representatives are rather disappointing anyway.
Admin
Morocco - I remember one article talking about brain drain and what should be done to bring back competent people. Contextual advertisement was : american visa lottery.....
got a screenshot but found no way to post it here!
Admin
That garry's mod screenshot is fake. Version 9 was never released on Steam, it was a standalone download.
Admin
Now that first one just made me think of the old Monty Python skit -- "Is your wife a sport, eh? Know what I mean, know what I mean, say no more!"
It's oddly appropriate too!
Admin
The real WTF is big annoying ads like that. Though it is fun to trick "context-sensitive" ads into saying "Click here for books on: why ads that just fill in your search query are dumb" or "Click here to buy slaves".
The installer just appears to be a generic "# seconds -> readable time" function being given a ridiculous number. In that context I'd be tempted to replace "more than 1 year" with "I have no idea".
Admin
TRWTF is that someone actually took the time to code 8765.8 hours = 1 year.
Admin
Yes, I know.
Admin
Admin
Quick, click on "Launch game as soon as it's loaded", so you can start playing soon.
Oh, rats.
The captcha is one of my country's best foods... No, not chocolates, not our beer, not fries; keep guessing, there's a Brussels and a Liege version.
Admin
captcha: darwin (how fitting... no comment needed!)
Admin
Those are just JPEG artifacts.
And that screenshot is the reason many programs usually don't display an estimate at first but wait a few seconds before generating one. The initial estimate is usually built off a speed of 0b/s or a slow speed.
Actually, that dialog displays for user-made mods if the game the mod is based on requires an update. Not fake.
Admin
I'll agree with that. I have a feeling it may also be possible to reproduce that screenshot by setting all the required games to manual updates only, and then run GMod when an update is required. Steam's pretty retarded when it comes to updates.
Also, the real WTF in my opinion is that they actually had code to determine if it would take more than a year... Who's gonna hang around waiting if it even said "more than a week"?
Admin
Your game will be ready in more than one year? Sounds like he is getting Duke Nukem Forever.
Admin
Oh, I see what TRWTF is with the first one: The sentence in the advertisement is missing its '?'.
It should have read:
Admin
I thought of: No one is to stone anyone until I blow this whistle!
Admin
Even the little add in the lower right corner adds to the stoning hilarity. (Wellington: Maori skulls to be returned to New Zealand)
I now know what those 'stones' really were...
Admin
Buying and selling debt is a long-established business model.
Admin
The Steam one seems good. You can put a big number of seconds, or a description. Most people will have no idea how hours is 93333 seconds. So a description is better. Nice youch to have the year things.
Admin
Exactly. What's wrong with gas, electrocution and lethal injection like us civilized folk.
Admin
Lycos has had that WTF going for more than a decade. When I was diagnosed with prostate cancer, I did a lot of searches. Lycos came up with a couple of helpful links: "Shop for prostate cancer" and "See what savvy investors are saying about prostate cancer". Alas, I couldn't get mine listed on NYSE.
Admin
Admin
Yeah, that's so true. Ebay...bah! I mean, everybody knows that you get the best radioactive materials from Amazon, just look all these positive comments:
http://www.amazon.com/review/product/B000796XXM/ref=cm_cr_pr_link_1
Admin
Oh my goodness that stoning ad is hysterical.
Admin
Fake.
You can't Update Gmod9, it's a mod, You would have to download indivdual updates.
Admin
The steam shot is definitely not fake; I got the same thing updating TF2 once...
