I think Dylan L. got the email meant for Mel B.
And there I was wondering what the Spice Girls had to do with it: Mel B

Surprised nobody has pointed out the obvious here: ostriches do not bury their heads in the ground to escape trouble. The myth arose from an inept naturalist who first watched them in the wild, seeing them lower their heads to ground level the better to avoid the visual distortion caused by the heating of the air.

So the real WTF is propagating this egregiously fatuous belief.

Some say the Ostrich gets near ground to turn their eggs, to search for water, to peck stones to aid digestion, or even to imitate a shrubbery to fool a predator.

In fact, one management consultant asserts the goal is allow ants to waterproof its feathers.

QJo, however, asserts that this is to avoid the mirage effect, a theory that is unique to the internets.

For creating a boring new fiction in place of a much more entertaining one, QR ... the Real WTF. Goodbye!

The window is used to provide user with the information and make him ostrichless as much as possible. It's not required by ImgBurn.
I find it hard to believe that there is any situation where a scary and confusing warning message is more appropriate than (A) just greying out the damn [x] button or (B) hide or minimize-to-tray and send a balloon notification when you have really important information that the user needs to know.

Yes, I know, the dreaded balloon notification. In spite of their frequent misuse, when used correctly they're really not a bad idea.
