Do solar panels work with moonlight to any significant degree?
Admin
WOW WTF WHOA
LOL
Admin
omg... first?
Todays my lucky day! ( Or night since I'm in Australia )
Admin
It is solar panels that CREATE moonlight!
Admin
"Don't tell me you're still using those solar panels that require sunlight, are you?"
No I'm not, I'm using a solar panel that is has nano-antennae that capture infra-red radiation and convert it to energy (the sun gives out loads of infra-red radiation). Infra-red radiation is still around at night and this is how it works so not a WTF at all.
Admin
for energy read electricity...
Admin
OR it is working by harnessing the power of starlight...
Admin
I thought the ad for Trend Internet Security "PRO" was one of the WTFs.
Admin
Pinus is not in my dictionary, but from a quick search on the internet, I learned that it is a family of trees. What's funny about that?
Admin
Admin
DECK HEADS!
Admin
Technically the solar panel could charge by night as well. if, for example, there was a full moon, or a nearby streetlight. That's not really an error I think.
Admin
Bad comment ruins Buddhist article in bad karma site.
Admin
To all the people saying solar panels can 'technically' work at night: I think the internal resistance of the solar panel would be more than enough to soak up the tiny amount of energy they produce. Even bright moonlight is many orders of magnitude less intense than sunlight. Wikipedia says the moon is 500,000 times fainter than the sun. So a 10W solar panel in daylight might produce 20 microwatts in moonlight. This is clearly not enough to do any charging!
Also the captcha in the article and thedailywtf captcha look really really easy to break...
Admin
From the words-in-foreign-languages-sound-funny-in-ours dept Pinus means "pine tree" in Latin. Which is somewhat used in captchas, as we can see here.
Next there will be a captcha WTF about Uranus, I'll bet.

Go Muse!

Obviously the EULA user needs to open his browser window first and enter his hotel's access code before he tries to use any other Internet application.
Admin
TRWTF is that pronounciation in the english language is so sloppy that you can exchange all the vowels in a word and still get something that sounds mostly like the original.
Admin
Yay! I was learning to play that this morning. Looking forward to seeing them this summer!
Admin
Lunar panels, hehehe.
Admin
I wonder if I manually change the EULA in the WOW directory if it would prompt me to re-accept it and show whatever I put in there. I'll try it out and if it works it will lead to all kinds of fun. I can change the EULA on my wife's computer and have it say things like "Why are you playing World of Warcraft? Go cook some eggs!"

Hang on, aren't mandalas (mandalae?) supposed to be destroyed? Yes, I know it's supposed to happen after they're finished, but I can't think of a better illustration of the transitory nature of things. Wonder if the monks saw it that way too...
Admin
I live in KCMO, and this caused quite the ruckus a few years ago. The monks definitely were not upset, and saw it quite like you said :)
Admin
Admin
The EULA problem is caused by a corupted file. Have you been Alt-F4-ing out of the game? Shame on you.
Admin
Oh. I see. The editor for that subtitle is a "deck head". ;)

The real WTF is Blizzard is using innerHTML to change the container contents
Admin
Exactly, a Pinus!
Admin
There was a bottle labled "pinus" in my biology class a few years ago. It was a preserved specimen of pine seeds.
Admin
ALT-F4? Me? Never. <_<;
Admin
The worst thing about the WOW EULA viewer:
It has the sentence "The EULA has changed!" at the top of the screen, apparently part of the backdrop image or something. Then the first first line of the EULA reads, "last updated: 2007" or invariably some date far in the past. Liars.
They should change that text to read: "Our lawyers have us by the balls!"
Admin
Also, there should be a picture of a level 70 elite Clippy next to it.
Admin
(*) or, if you prefer, "aluminium"
Admin
But when you're 13 years old you might still be laughing about it.
Admin
The funny thing is that you're SUPPOSED to destroy Mandalas. It's just that you wait until they're finished, first.
They're supposed to demonstrate the "impermanence of all things" or some crap like that.
So no real harm done. The kid actually saved them a day or two of making the stupid thing!
Admin
If the EULA contained FILE_NOT_FOUND, will the choices be TRUE or FALSE?
Admin
What? 'Pee-niss' and 'py-nuss' don't sound anything alike.
Admin
Yes but how come PENis and PEN don't sound the same.
Admin
These solar charged things only work for about six months of the year here in Alta, Norway. In the summer it's sun all the time so they never come on and in winter there's no sun at all so they don't get charged.
What a waste.
Admin
Pinus is a genus in the tree family Pinaceae, commonly known as a Pine tree:

Admin
The solar panels would indeed work just fine, if you are north of the polar circle (Or south, depending on which pole). Would only work through the summer of course.
Of course, if you're traveling with an amoured polarbear, I may be wrong.
Admin
Would be better if there was a site accessibility option to 'Listen to the code', it'd be like Stephen Hawking switching physics for a sex education lecture
Admin
Pinus is the Latin name for pine; the captcha was just being classical. The poster was the immature person.
CAPTCHA: argue. Nice for this post.
Admin
These EULAs keep getting more and more complicated, now it seems you need a full-fledged HTML rendering engine and a JavaScript interpreter just to display them!
Admin
when the user typed in the captcha, did the webpage ask him, "is it in yet?"
Admin
All solar panels I know of are working on starlight. The sun being the closest star to this planet.
Admin
If you live in Iceland you can use those solar panels 24-hours a day during the summer
