    I think the OP's point with the varchar remark is: Why is it a varchar at all; as opposed to an integer.

    Nevertheless, haven't people learned to stay away from 2-digit dates by now? And why would you do all that string manipulation if you didn't have to? It's just bad design all around.

    I met Moxy Fruvous at a bookstore appearance and had the chance to ask Dave Matheson if the song was a reference to Gogol's "Diary of a Madman." He said he hadn't read it, so it didn't influence the song.

    Then Mike suggested it was the power of Dave's writing going back in time and influencing Gogol. :)

    Jian pissed me off to no end at one of his solo shows for 2 reasons:

    1. he was telling us that we were awful because he could speak farsi and the taliban were people too and we shouldn't be bombing them (never mind them stoning people to death and stuff) I mean, I expect to hear things I disagree with at their shows, but there are limits. These are some brutal people.

    and more importantly 2) he was picking on me for eating chicken wings during the show - it WAS at a place that had tables and served food, I guess I wasn't supposed to eat anything while listening to him rant lol

And whilst certain kinds of laziness are good assets for a developer (spending a week to write a program that will save you 10 minutes on each new project that you start), other kinds of laziness are liabilities (doing something the easy way because you couldn't be bothered to do it the proper way, like copy-and-paste code).

    Wait... are you suggesting that copy-and-paste code is the proper way?
