Yup, all coded in VB, because VB sucks. It's totally not usefull for anything ever. It also instills really bad programming practices in it's users. I'd go so far as to say it's the worst language ever, and unjustifiably over-used. VB coders are what is wrong with the world today. Why do you think most if not all of the major WTFs are coded in VB? It's because people who program in VB just generally suck at everything. It's a POS that was jumbled together over many versions, having major features change with each new one. I even heard that they are intoducing the keywords AsIf, Kinda, SortOfLike, Aint, and AintNo. So, instead of doing "If Not bleck Is Nothing" you can now do "If bleck Aint Nothing".

  • (cs)

Sort of somewhat on the topic of incompetant programmers, a techie-type friend of mine has a theoretical way to weed out people who claim they are more qualified than they really are:

When someone claims they are an expert, have them sit at a table, give them a minor technical problem (in their field of expertise) to solve, then make them hold a spinning circular saw (guard pulled back, blade down) in their teeth. If they can solve it before they lose their grip, they are qualified. If not, Darwin wins.

It may not be practical, but the interview process would be so much more entertaining.

No need to bother posting my own opinion,  I'll just post someone else's.
    • The tools we use have a profound (and devious!) influence on our thinking habits, and, therefore, on our thinking abilities.

    • It is practically impossible to teach good programming to students that have had a prior exposure to BASIC: as potential programmers they are mentally mutilated beyond hope of regeneration.

    • Projects promoting programming in "natural language" are intrinsically doomed to fail.

    Do you mean ogling?

def: To stare at impertinently, flirtatiously, or amorously.

I bet she's some model in LA that will eventually be shat out of the bowels of the porn industry (quoting Seinfeld there).  She certainly sucks at foosball.  Technique is horrible .. she's looking right to the defensive side of the table (she's on offense it appears) yet her dudes are perpindicular to the table.  If her defense took a good shot, she might block it with her players, or perhaps her dangling left breast.

Perhaps you should join the Cambrian House and find out!

Not that she isn't "pretty" or anything, just... not the most flattering of images.
