Twenty years ago or so, I used to run Novell's Developer program, and every developer was given a free copy of NetWare for design, development, testing, and support. We decided to give them the top level version, which was called SFT III.
But the thousands of copies of SFT III I gave to our developer partners threw off the product counts enough that it required investigation. As a result we created a new SKU that consisted of a single part, which was the SKU of SFT III.
The other result was that I lost my job about a month later...
