    Good, a transcript. Reading...

    ...

... once again, TRWTF as a total lack of peer review for the newcomer. No matter how overloaded the team is, someone needs to gauge the alleged skills.

It wouldn't be called a sprint if they weren't overcommitted to going forward no matter what with reckless abandon.

The real WTF is that you have subscribers who still believe that accusations of non-conventional personal lifestyle is an effective means of insulting someone who you don't like for some reason. But then again that's not really surprising as there are high-ranking republicans who believe that they can improve their position by using exactly that debating technique against the current president of the US.

It's very sad, and just goes to show how far the world still needs to go before we reach that rationalist / humanist utopia towards which all sane humans aspire.

"Non-conventional personal lifestyle"... "insulting someone you don't like"... "high ranking [opposite party] can improve their position by using exactly that debating technique against [my party]."

Quotes from sane humans "I can't believe that an intelligent person would believe in some fairy in the sky. Those people can't possibly be logical and therefore shouldn't have the access to modify vital code."

"These people shouldn't be allowed to have kids. I mean legally. They brainwash children. I wouldn't allow it."

"Impart misery by getting in the way of [what I want to do]. These are our enemies."

"People intolerant of [the lifestyle I support] shouldn't be allowed to make decisions, or even debate the issue. (I don't tolerate them)."

    The hypocrisy is astounding.

It's so bad that if I have certain unwanted impulses that I don't cave to, then I'm backwards [lifestyle]phobic. My spouse is a front, and a disgrace. They are offended, that I have a choice to choose my lifestyle and I don't choose theirs. People with certain impulses are doomed to live life the way they dictate. Otherwise they don't feel comfortable.

All I can say to that is....

    I love my spouse.

    I can MAKE THIS WORK
    Mitch:
    Umm-- no.
    BOSSMAN:
    What?
    more nattering, then
    Mitch:
Not yet. JJ, no development in prod is a rule for a reason-- and preventing out of control and unknown changes is one of them. I really need you to at least show me what you did on QA. Please?

    Wait, what?

Someone told the bossman they could get what they want. Why is anybody else allowed to talk in such circumstances, particularly if they contradict what the bossman wants to hear.

Oh, it's April 1st ... Ya got me!

I'll admit I was hoping for a veiled Hanzo reference. Like the IT guy being like "Maybe we need to call in that German Ninja" or similar.

Not sure if dumbass... Or just Obama supporter.

Oh of course you live in the US where you don't get to hear the news. I'm a Brit so I did hear about it. There's some republican prick who said recently: Don't support Obama because he's a homosexual.

So someone who mentions something in the press which you personally don't like is a "dumbass"? Well you've a fucking cunt.

A company that runs IDEs as admin, but won't let devs in production? I don't believe it.

Having local administrator rights to the machine you work as a developer is not a WFT.

Yeah, he's saying that's the way it should be, and it's weird to see a company realize that.

WTF indeed. Take down the misleading Direct Download links if they're not working / being used.

Will be done when I'm home tonight, will upload mp3s right to thedailywtf.com and change the links. In the mean time, you're welcome for the bonus WTF.

Excellent! Loved the radio play. Keep 'em coming.

As someone who has over 30 years of experience in New York City working with such braintrusts as WTF-Inc, and several huge financial institutions where code/deploy/test-in-prod is the rule, I'm pretty sure I've worked with some of the JJ's of the world.

It was funny and I applaud the effort, but it was really longer than necessary IMO.

This was the greatest thing ever. Steve on the phone was hilarious! I can't wait another year for the next one. If you had them up on Amazon MP3 I would pay a few bucks for them!

I do wish there was a transcript or something though.

Dang, knew I forgot something. Will get that posted. Only issue is that a transcript will exclude our visually impaired audience, so I'll also have to run the transcript through a text-to-speech for them.

For a more consistent experience you should run it back and forth through text-to-speech and voice-to-text a few times until they reach equilibrium.
