I like the bit in the menu bar towards the end where it starts going, "Help", "Help", "Help".
"Help, help, I'm trapped in a menu bar generator"
Admin
$UserName? $Password?
Do people even test this shit? Or do they just code blindly and commit their changes?
Admin
I almost expect them to reset every account's password with the string '$Password'. That would've been brillant.
Admin

And their usernames, too.

The real WTF is expecting Womad to be in Berkshire in the first place ...
Admin
Womad did actually take place in Bracknell for a few years in the 80's. Although I would agree that expecting anything interesting to happen in Berkshire, especially Bracknell, is quite a WTF...
Admin
Well actually it is worse than that it was for something in Reading, and the majority of the sales were for Reading items and by a ticket sales associated partly with Reading Council.
They ought to know if they are in Berkshire .....
Mind you this was a few months ago ...

When the fan on MY laptop cranks up and starts putting out heat like a furnace, I know I accidentally booted into Ubuntu instead of Windows.
Admin
What if his credentials are actually $username/$password?
captcha: suscipit I suscipit a bug in this software
Admin
Did you mean: frist?
Admin
0/10. Must be Friday -- the trolls aren't really trying.
Admin
Of course TRWTF is a system designed to send a password in an email in the first place, even if they did fail at it.
Admin
4548 hours? Of course, the actual question is "Which is more likely? That you have a battery installed in your laptop that can run continually for over half a year without recharging, or that Windows messed up yet another calculation?" I am leaning more to the second option.
Admin
Let me guess... You think you're making fun of Linux (or perhaps just Ubuntu) but you're accidentally pointing out that you bought a crappy laptop, right?
Admin
Reading, actually: it was on Rivermead, the same site as the notorious Reading Rock Festival.
As for Bracknell, it does host the Folk Festival or whatever it calls itself nowadays, which (based on my own experience of it on the occasions I've been) is a seriously high-quality event.

Typical Linux apologist, blame the user for any and all problems.
I deliberately bought a cheap-ass netbook to use basically as a fancy graphing calculator, but it can barely even manage that under Ubuntu.
And god help me if I try to ask it to play videos or games (the same ones Windows XP handles just fine on the same machine). 480p videos and FCEUX are the best I can hope for.
Admin
I think the second line is like a dev team's chant:
Team! Team! Build! Build! Debug! Debug! Team! Team!
Admin
In Berkshire, Berksheier, Berkshir, Berkshiir, and Berksshire, Burricanes 'ardly Bever Bappen!
Admin
UR Doin it Rong. Or maybe you don't understand boot vs. starting a VM. I've got Ubuntu booting native on a 14-yr-old Mac laptop--that's pre-Intel-- and it does just fine (not streaming video, but local video).
Admin
Won't dignify that with a response lol. ('cept this one)

RobotShop's suggestion of crab is perfectly reasonable, actually... [image]
Scene from Logan's Run, if you haven't seen it.

Admin
The last one, about the suggested alternate search on RobotShop.com, is actually just RobotShop blindly displaying the search suggestions generated by whatever search software they are using. I can see why RCB might get interpreted as misspelling crab.
TRWTF is using Chrome's incognito mode on RobotShop.com. What were you really looking for, Iago Rubio? Huh?
Perv.
Admin
Well, there's Window File Edit and Window, that's not got much Window in it.

People have been making fun of the new Atom-powered laptops, but the battery life delivers!
I can surf the web for weeks!
Admin
Try using the XFCE desktop instead. It is much lighter on the resources than the default Unity desktop. It should allow you to do most of what you want, while losing just a few bells and whistles.
Admin
Actually a defective battery (or charging system) that is not properly reporting the DRAIN on the battery is the most likely - NOT a software error.
Admin
Shorter: "My POS notebook runs like a POS with new software!"
Unity requires a machine that is not garbage. It is not appropriate for a "Fancy graphing calculator". I run XUbuntu on P4 era hardware every day, no problem.

Clearly that Visual Studio needed more Buffalo...

The Apache Special Forces Team (Codename: "Tomcat") has been dispatched to collect your internal organs. They are coming from Berkshire so it will take 4548 hours for them to reach you.

The real wtf is this years saturday headline act at Reading Festival
http://www.readingfestival.com/
Admin
Wow, it's almost like that was the joke in the first place! Thank you for deciphering and analyzing that utterly incomprehensible screenshot for us, Sherlock, I really have no idea what we'd all do without your valuable insights.
Admin
Well, I'll say one thing: whoever implemented that list is certainly a berk himself.

Last time I went was 1995. Green Day were high up on Friday's bill then too. Headliner that day was Neil Young.
I tend not to go down that end of town that weekend nowadays, but power to its elbow. Let it rock.

"Berk! Feed me!"

TRWTF is Visual Studio.
Admin
Ermahgerd! Berks!
Admin
The visual studio one is not the menu. This is the president's sick daughter trying to communicate with us from where they keep her. We must rescue her!damned aliens...
Admin
Haha, cannot unhear now.

I've worked at WOMAD in England and can confirm there are a lot of berks there - proportionately far more than at other festivals.
