    Boring. These days, a screenshot isn't embarassing unless it contains a minimized bestiality website.

    The "order non-confirmation" is a thing you should do for legal reasons. In Germany, if you accidentaly put an item for 0,90 $ into your shop that should be sold for 90,00 $ and you send a real order confirmation, you might be forced to sell it for 0,90 $. If you send a "non-confirmation" confirming only that you received the order, its fine.

    The Real WTF(tm) is: why does Nick Thompson print out a digital photo of an email printout?

    This comment has been sent by fax and may contain errors due to optical text recognition.

    FYI: I was given the print-out by a colleague and while I could have gone and screen-printed it myself it was more fun to add wooden-table goodness.

    No, I noticed that as well. The print head needs replacing on that printer. Of course, since I work for a multi-national provider of ATMs, I'd notice this sort of thing.

    Well that narrows it down to one of two multi-national companies. :)

    In exchange it's set by KB so the poor admin just forgot a 0 ... 65536KB instead of 655360KB ... it's actually not that big of a WTF, although funny message. Now if he missed the 0 on the max size now that is funny

    I understand why the poster of the order confirmation blacked out the text following "Dear" and "order number", but why did he block out the text following "will be delivered no later than"? Was he afraid that strangers would see the date and cry, "An order for delivery by Jan 14, 2009! Why that must be Fred Stover! He's the only person in the world who received deliveries of mail order merchandise between Jan 7 and Jan 14."

    Yes.
    No no no. What's wrong with a code sample, for goodness' sake?
    C:\Temp>type herehere.bat
    @ECHO off
    @ECHO Yes.
    here.bat

    C:\Temp>type here.bat herehere.bat

    The wonderful thing about this is that, counter-intuitively, one way to stop the recursion is to type "Yes."

    This is probably the most useful DOS batch file I have ever written.

    Addendum (2009-04-07 15:51): Of course, the really sad part is that I still don't trust DOS after all these years. I mean, that "@ECHO off", it's too intuitive for me, even now. Version 2 of the most useful DOS batch file I have ever written:

    C:\Temp>type herehere.bat
    @ECHO off
    @ECHO Yes.
    herehere.bat

    Yes. Company policy forbids me from actually telling you who I work for.

    No, wait, common sense forbids me. Sorry. I don't often get those two confused, but sometimes it happens.

    I'm not allowed to say who I work for either. But let's just say it's a military organization that specializes in air combat ...

    Usually, when a website has an Error'd I like to have a look at it for myself. In the case of support.cox.com, I have decided to abstain from my usual practice. I think I have made a wise decision.

    " 'null' is null or not an object"

    I program javascript and have no problem with this (though, yes, IE is awful about telling you where the error occurred). Look closely. The first null is in quotes, so it's a string and therefore neither null nor an object (unlike in, say, python where strings are objects).
