So the sametime developers decided to reduce the number of messages by combining two of them into one. That's probably one of the least WTF things about Lotus Notes. It's barely worth a mention.

    No.

It's an improper use of LDAP thing. Sametime actually reports that on any search error. It's just doing a synchronous LDAP query and seeing that the number of results returned is 0. There's an status code that's also returned, but the version of Sametime that generates that error doesn't look at that. Newer versions of Sametime, however, do. That having been said, it's still properly called 'Lametime'. I've seen products with less competent spell checkers, but no others with an inconsistent spell checker.

For the uninitiated, it occasionally randomly marks correctly spelled words as wrong, and occasionally marks incorrectly spelled words as right. I've seen it mark I and a as incorrect, although usually it complains about all but the first letter when it decides to complain about a properly spelled word. (Note: that wouldn't stop it from marking atypical as incorrectly spelled like this.)

I would think Is Dept means something like IS (information systems) department. It still makes no sense to separate all those.
