Frankly, I don't quite understand why some spell checks do *not* include swear words. Maybe "motherfucking" is a *bit* extreme, but stuff like "ass" or "cock" should always be included. Not only in spell check libraries, but also (and especially) in Scrabble games.
I think it all depends if they have a non swear word use as well. 'ass' and 'cock' are both fine as they are animals. 'fuck' is not because it is slang, and scrabble explicitly excludes slang.

Do you have unlimited download from your ISP? With that kind of speed I guess you can fill up a 160GB disk in a single day.
In Sweden everybody has unlimited internet though diffent speed of course. For me 100Mbit up and down costs 30-40$ (now when the dollar is so low) with no limit what so ever. I don't feel like paying as much though so I'm fine with 30Mbit up and down. :D

Sorry for the offtopic. The first picture was pretty funny. Must have been really much traffic. ;)

Maybe if I stop downloading porn, the internet wouldn't be so busy. :)

Eleven microbits per second? So a ten kilobyte file would take you nearly 23 hours? My e-willy feels pretty big right about now.

How can I live with my 500Kbps internet? Brazilian internet sucks.

    Get your facts straight!

Who told you that "Scrabble explicitly excludes slang"? Scrabble's official rules say that you must play WORDS, as listed in whatever dictionary the players have agreed upon beforehand. (Words without apostrophes, or hyphens, or capitalized words.)

One common choice is the Official Scrabble Players' Dictionary, which includes words that are commonly considered vulgar. (It only gives brief definitions, since the definition is not the point of the game -- if something is a word, it's acceptable in Scrabble.)

F**k is definitely a word, and acceptable in Scrabble tournaments.

add motherfucking to you dictionary then try spelling Buckinghamshire

  • DavidTC (unregistered) in reply to MET

    Shouldn't it be 'mother-fucking'?

At least, whenever someone's using it as an adverb? Of course, if someone uses it as a verb, than it's one word, but with an -ing it's almost entirely used as an adverb. (Possible verb use: He'll be here in a second, he's still motherfucking.)

But as an adverbial phrase, it's clearly two words, 'mother', which modifies the sort of 'fucking' that is going on, and thus should be 'mother-fucking'. (Or even 'mother fucking'.)

Although, as far as I know, the mere existence of the verb-form, even fairly unused, would make it eligible for Scrabble, although obviously you'd have to build it in two pieces.

I don't ever recall seeing a '*' tile in Scrabble. Could I use a blank tile instead?

Just tried the spelling, and I don't get the problem. Using the English-UK dictionary "Buckinghamshire" is fine as-is. Using the default English-US dictionary I get just one suggestion, for "Buckingham shire"...

try with a lower case "b". UK dictionary suggests the capitalised version, US dictionary gives the suggestions mentioned.
