I was kinda expecting an "Aaaaaauuuuuuuuugh" line there.
Admin
FirsttttttTTTTTAAAAAAAWEEEEEEEEEEAWOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOO -
Admin
Admin
he managed to get a "G0D" in there too! aaaaaaaaaaaaaaaauuuwesome.
Admin
Nice. Here's the original, just so everyone's on the same page:
King Arthur: [about the inscription on the rock] What does it say, Brother Maynard? Brother Maynard: It reads, "Here may be found the last words of Joseph of Aramathia. He who is valiant and pure of spirit may find the holy grail in the Castle of Aaauuuggghhh..." King Arthur: What? Brother Maynard: "The Castle of Aaaauuuggghhhh" Sir Bedevere: What is that? Brother Maynard: He must have died while carving it. King Arthur: Oh come on! Brother Maynard: Well, that's what it says. King Arthur: Look, if he was dying, he wouldn't have bothered to carve 'Aaaauuuggghhhh'. He'd just say it. Sir Galahad: Maybe he was dictating it. King Arthur: Oh shut up!
Admin
Funny - that's a base64 encoded GIF image. An empty GIF image, to be exact, most likely a spacer. Damn, I'm such a geek.
Admin
Beat me to it. We're all geeks here.
Admin
That reminds me of the ESPN on-screen graphics guy's sudden suicide during an NFL game I was recording. Must've been as frustrated with the offense's incompetence as I was...

Made me think of ole' Monty
Admin
The "AAA..." is funny, but I think the "Ow" part at the end makes it a masterpiece.
Admin
I was going to come in and say "maybe he was dictating", but, no surprise, I've been beaten to the punch about 10 times already.
Admin
For an "Unsolved" murder, we sure do seem to know quite a lot about it.

Anyone know if I can install that on earlier versions, or will I have to upgrade to Windows 2005R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAP///wAAACH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw== first?
Admin
A programmer who doesn't get Monty Python references? Now there's a WTF!
Admin
Being bludgeoned to death with your own keyboard could be a reference to Gattaca.
Admin
Wow. You typed that whole thing out, didn't you? Impressive!
Admin
Reminds me of a tech support case my father opened once.
He would just be sitting there typing along and random characters would appear at random intervals in his word document.
After much debugging with a tech support person... He had played around with some speech dictation software a few weeks earlier and forget to turn it off!
David Letterman's "True Story" version:
He would just be sitting there typing along and curse words would sometimes appear in his word document, but only when he made a typo.
Admin
The cool thing is that when you Base64 decode that, you get
GIF89a\001\000\001\000\200\000\000\377\377\377\000\000\000!\371\004\001\000\000\000\000,\000\000\000\000\001\000\001\000\000\002\002D\001\000;
go ahead and type
data:image/gif;base64,R0lGODlhAQABAIAAAP///wAAACH5BAEAAAAALAAAAAABAAEAAAICRAEAOw==
into the address bar of a browser near you.. it's just a spacer GIF that is being used as a data:uri; ironically, Internet Explorer DOES NOT support data:uri. I believe that when that browser can't display an image and the image has no alt text, it uses the URL as the alt text.
Admin
It looked like it was Base 64 encoded, so I decoded it and got: ÛM9GIF89aÿÿÿ!ù,D;
I think it's a clue.
Admin
Wow, while I have posted comments that have been irrelevant, I don't think I've ever had my comment made obsolete as I was posting it before. Kudos Derrick.
Admin
I am so very scared that some of you actually figured out what that is. And jealous, because I'd never have thought of it in a million years.
Admin
Hmm… I inspected this a bit. It looked like Base64 encoded secret for me. And after some investigation it appears, that it was murder's picture using GIF89 file format. Everybody can check this yourself. Good luck.
Admin
I thought I was the geekest person in the world because I found out just by seeing it that it was a base64 encoded string. Once I was about to post it here I found your reply...
I think today will be drink-until-faint day to geek-detox :P
It's friday!
Admin
Summary of the rest of the conversation:
Monty Python rocks!
Hay guys, I think it's Base64 stuff! And it looks like it might be a picture! I'm so smart!
You guys are too smart. Dweebs.

Hello, World
Admin
The actual page where this appears is here:
http://msdn2.microsoft.com/en-us/library/aa980629(vs.80).aspx
Admin
Isn't that just the Hungarian notation for some sort of special string named 'w' ?
Admin
Well commenting on quoting Python is only funny when you're not such a douche to begin with.
Admin
Does this mean god really is in all the empty spaces?
Admin
Now someone do that with 2-tone GIF porn
Admin
Someone has his panties in a bunch today. I hadn't heard those lines before (yeah, I know) so I appreciated the "chunk of script". And you're wrong, it was still funny even though I didn't know Python already - I laughed as I read it.
Admin
Happened in our office too. She came running into my office to tell me her computer was "haunted".
Admin
Finally, a TDWTF that made me laugh. Out loud. Uncontrollably.
Captcha: doom (I'm gonna sing the doom song now!)
Admin
Admin
Wait, God is a base64-encoded GIF?
CAPTCHA: kung fu (My kung fu is base64-encoded GIFly!)
Admin
what is this image? i won't dare open it, because i've heard of GIF exploits before
can anyone analyze that one?
Admin
Admin
(i mean the one that is the "hello world" link)
Admin
There is a little thing called "the rest of the world" outside your little cave, check it out sometime!
Admin
Maybe he was using the latest Microsoft voice recognition software.
Admin
I'm lame. I replied too quickly. Ignore me.
Admin
Reminds me of the time my Mom crashed WordPerfect by falling asleep on "z" key.
Admin
Thanks for catching this...<url>http://blogs.msdn.com/robcaron/archive/2007/02/23/1750153.aspx</url>.

Oops..

Admin
that was a good one ;o)
Admin
What's really sad is that after the tech writer died, no one has yet completed the documentation. Countless database admins try to set up mirroring by following the instructions, go on to install another instance of SQL Server and then... nothing. How do you actually make the other SQL Server instance act as a mirror? No one knows.
Admin
So they have a Susan on the team but not a Mark. Or maybe it was Paula?
