... and of course not being allowed to enter numbers or "punctuation" into an address field will limit your capability to enter "123-A N. Lakeside Drive" for example.

95600 results for "thedailywtf.com"? But there is only one as far as I know. (and maybe few references to it on other sites) Again microsoft eye candy: the more results, the better the search engine is....

  • foxyshadis (unregistered) in reply to microsoft candy

I hate to break it to you, but sometimes other people can talk about you on the internet. That makes hits. Sites that have been around for 10 years tend to have a lot of those....

  • Some guy (unregistered) in reply to microsoft candy

Google has 159000 results. Is that Microsoft eye candy as well?

  • Concerned (unregistered)

Connor O. left way too much identifiable information in that image. I hope that isn't his real address.

  • KGB (unregistered) in reply to Concerned

    nice pool

  • Connor's Unobfuscated Address (unregistered)

Nice to see Connor heading to his car

The one about the Javascript? Amazeballs. In this era of React/Ember/Angular/etc., we have to remember that people have good reasons not to have JavaScript enabled.

Not sure I quite get the SEO one. We're the top hit in the natural search results. There's a not-obviously-related ad above it, which may be the real worse-than-failure.

Even with 9999 messages you can still get to inbox zero if you want.

  • Dave Aronson (google)

Yeah, the Clinton ad on a search for TheDailyWTF is a bit odd. Disagree with her as much as you want, Trump is much more of a DailyWTF.

  • Unreadmails (unregistered)

Actually the 9999 unread mails looks believable to me. I've had my gmail app correctly tell me that i had 99+ unread emails for years. In fact, there were some 7800 that i only recently marked as read/deleted. The only reason i deleted/marked them as read to begin with was so that the 99+ notification would start displaying a sensible amount.

I used to download my mails on my desktop pc via POP without deleting them on the server so i had in fact read all those emails, just not online and never bothered to fix the online read-status.

  • Brian Boorman (google) in reply to Concerned

It is real address. There's only 4 of them in Massachusetts. Whitepages shows Connor O(redacted) as a resident at one of them. And given his age listed (18 to 24), that's probably him walking to his car in the Google street view.

That said, does he really have anything to worry about? I very highly doubt it. But I'm not a "worst-first" thinker either.

  • Will (unregistered) in reply to Concerned

He's got a nice house. Also, take the image down, TDWTF.

  • Brian Boorman (google) in reply to Will

Why? Connor chose to submit it that way knowing it could be published. It's up to him to decide what information he's comfortable sharing.

By your reasoning, TDWTF should remove every comment I've made, because someone could Google my real name that I choose to use (because I'm not a crazy paranoid freak, like Will appears to be).

I'm surprised nobody else has mentioned that a political campaign is listed as a WTF. Given this political season, I can say that that is what it has become.

So, maybe bing got it right! Then again they are Microsoft, so I still wonder.

  • eric bloedow (unregistered)

that Javascript story reminds me of a story i read somewhere: someone tried to download Winzip, and their site only had Zipped files available...

  • Alsot (unregistered)

East Longmeadow is the lesser Longmeadow anyways.

  • David C (unregistered) in reply to Brian Boorman

OK, you know his name and where he lives... so what? You can find that information in the phone book. I mean, he posted a screenshot from a web page. It's not like he's leaking bad code from a fortune 500 company and is afraid he'll lose his job if he's found out.

  • Brian Boorman (google) in reply to David C

That was my point exactly. So what. Will was the one who was all "up in arms" about the image.

I'm a bit disappointed that Hillary's website has a location where you can "Get Texts from Hillary" but nowhere to get emails from Hillary.

    Brilliant Angela!

Nice catch 22. I've done that to myself. Long time ago I was trying to make more room on my 40MB HDD for a new game, I think. So, ARJ everything, install game... Ok, now since I'm doing that, I might as well make some more space, so ARJ another folder... What? Bad command or file name? Yup, I've archived arj.exe itself, deleted the original and already overwritten it with the new game. Good job, me. No more access to archives or freeing more space until Monday - maybe someone at school will have it.

// No, kids, I couldn't just download it. Even my school only had a 14k modem, I didn't.

Even if we leave out house numbers and such stuff, I wonder whether there are other countries with street names like "Straße des 17. Juni" ("Street of June, 17th")

The JavaScript one reminded me of an error message on the old IBM PS/2: No keyboard detected. Strike any key to continue.

There's only one of them in "East Longmeadow" (the ascenders and descenders kinda give it away).

His name is apparently "James O'Brien" though.

Yes, there are streets in various cities in Mexico named (something like) 16 de Septembrie Blvd.

  • January First-of-May (unregistered) in reply to PWolff

Or simply numbered streets - I once lived at 15ya Parkovaya ulitsa (15th Park street). Omsk is well known for overabundance of those, IIRC (when it's not well known for the crow, anyway).
