    The only WTF I can find is that a develoer gets an accidental job offer that the company didn't indend, gets into a plush job of SCM guru and is left mostly alone.

    Remember, you have to fail the interview for a different position to get this job. It's like an annoying videogame, but even less fun, because you don't even know what you'll be doing for money in the end.

    Some might say the company is wasteful to keep him on staff for doing essentially nothing. The reality though, is he's probably more valuable than most employees. He's the in-house therapist and a source of sympathy and reason in a corporate hell.
