    So Frank committed the perfect murder ...

    Assuming there's any kernel of truth in this fine story I have to wonder about the path forward from here.

    Was Greg able to recover their source into a sensible folder structure, get it into a source control system, etc.?, Was he then able to de-Frankify enough of it fast enough to let IniTech survive, while also not crashing their app(s) and their business? If the CEO is making the introductions, this IniTech is a small firm whose lifeblood is that codebase, whether it makes the company run or it's their only product.

    In so many of these "new sheriff" stories we in the audience, or at least me, tend to assume the new person is good, damn good. And given time and resources commensurate to the task will right the ship. Often that's not true; they're simply differently bad and will end up applying their own unique brand of stink to the already festering mess. then quitting in futility or being fired for lack of progress.

    ... so TRWTF is Jordan walking in on Frank without knocking? At least announce you're entering, allowing a man time to adjust his clothing as necessary.

    Aah, the classics. This reminds me of why I missed each and every one of Eric Gern's submissions.

    Because he can't write for toffee, that's why.

    Mentat, you say?

    It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion. It is by the beans of Java the thoughts acquire speed, The hands acquire shaking, The shaking becomes a warning. It is by caffeine alone I set my mind in motion.

    Great Dune pastiche BTW, Dunno.

    Achieving one's target eyeball jiggle rate is indeed one of the keys to the mentat way. Some younglings swear by Red Bull; the elder wizards know caffeine is the One True Path.

    In the words of Eric Clapton;

    "She don't lie, she don't lie, she don't lie, Caffeine ..."
