"If you press 'Cancel', you are not cancelling; instead, you are cancelling the cancellation. Can we cancel this please?"

Clearly an example of that "cancel culture" thing that gets half the internet into a daily rage.

If I was Peter, I'd worry about being in a creepypasta.

Some kind spirit begging him to delete the file before it's too la-

The cancel button to cancel the cancellation is, oh, so common.... and irritating.

PS: I got the captcha today, after several months dodging it!

I don't get the Delete Immediately Errord. One alternative says "Delete Immediately...", the other "DeIete lmmediateIy..." You should obviously choose "Delete Immediately..." The education nowadays!

Yeah, it is so common that in Windows 95 (IIRC), Microsoft decided to change the Czech translation of "Cancel" from a general common verb to a specialized, more rare one, precisely to avoid similar comfusion. (But you still can create a similar dialog in e. g. an accounting program where the specialized verb could be in common use.)

Also, a banking mobile app I use has a subfeature where when you click the back button, a dialog appears asking if you want to leave the screen and return back to the app. Offering buttons "Close" and "Return".

Surely the possible responses to "Are you sure?" are "Yes" and "No"?

Me: Are you sure you want 10 sugars in your coffee? You: OK. Me: Huh?
